As some of you may or may not know, on Friday July 13th, 2012, a Muslim family in Milton was victimized by a tragic house fire on Woodward Avenue that severely damaged their home. Alhumdulilah, they were able to evacuate in time without suffering any serious injuries. However, they have lost almost everything of their personal belongings due to the damage caused by the fire despite the best efforts of the Milton Fire Department.
The impacted family is currently residing with relatives in Mississauga as they try to get over their shock and grief from this tragic incident. Representatives from the Muslim Association of Milton have had contact with the victim family to determine the best way we can help this family in their time of need. As a result, we have setup a Food Drive to collect non-perishable food items throughout this week to be delivered to the affected family. Please bring only non-perishable food items such as rice, flour, canned food items, cooking oil etc. and drop them off at the Musallaah located at 511 Ontario St. throughout this week, Inshaï؟½Allaah.
Please note that we are NOT accepting any clothes or other household items at this time.
We are also collecting monetary donations to help this family financially during this difficult time. We have donation boxes available at Ishï؟½aa/Taravhee prayers each night for you to donate for this worthy cause. Please donate generously to help this Muslim family survive and cope with this tragic incident that has impacted their lives severly. May Allaah (SWT) make it easier for this family to get through this tribulation. Ameen!
