Dear Friend,
How much snow do you think we’ll see this weekend? Since it’s unclear what the accumulation will be, we will have a hybrid meditation practice on Sunday. We encourage everyone to consider joining us via this Zoom link: Feb. 1, 4:00pm. Rev. WonGong and Rev. Shaun will lead our meditation from the Raleigh Temple, and you are welcome to join them if the road conditions are safe.
Last week, Rev. WonGong shared a mini-talk, “The Mind is Originally Free from Disturbance,” which you can listen to on our podcast. I found this message to be very hopeful. If my mind’s natural tendency is to be at peace, then my job is to simply allow it to return to that state each time I become unsettled or upset. During this Sunday’s practice, we’ll explore the topic of letting go of disturbances so we can rediscover our peaceful mind.
There are just a few spots left for our upcoming Qigong Workshop! Don’t delay - register today to reserve your space. You’ll learn basic Qigong and Tai chi forms and how to incorporate moving meditation into everyday life.
Each week we discuss one short passage from the Won Buddhist Scriptures. There’s no need to prepare in advance. As one participant told me, “Dharma study allows me to connect with others and gain perspectives and 'ah-ha's' I couldn't get from reading passages alone.”
Palms together,
Paige (Doh Jin) for Reverends WonGong & Shaun
Your Practice is the heartbeat of our dharma community.
