Dear Friends,
We have a special invitation for you! 🤗💐
Sa-gyeong practice from April 1–25 in honor of the upcoming celebration of Great Awakening Day (4 PM, April 26 at our Raleigh Temple).
Sa-gyeong (pronounced: sah-gyuhng) is a traditional Buddhist practice of mindfully copying sacred texts by hand. Through this quiet, focused writing, we can cultivate concentration, clarity, and a deeper connection to the teachings.
For this 25-day practice, you may choose one of these Dharma chants (attached file) and practice writing the same one daily—either in simple handwriting or in a more creative, artistic style:
Essential Dharmas of Daily Practice
The Truth of Il-Won-Sang
Il-Won-Sang Vow
Heart Sutra
Young Joo
Or any selection from the chanting book that resonates with you
📒 We hope you will join us in this practice—wherever you are—as a meditative discipline, carried out with sincerity and mindfulness. 🖋️
When you join us on April 26 for the celebration, you are warmly invited to share your Sa-gyeong notes on our display table.
