Yes you can download media to your WiFi capable pc using the hotspot. Keep in mind, the hotspot only provides 10GBs of 4G high speed data. After you reach 10GBs on the hotspot, it will be throttled to 3G speeds until the next billing cycle starts. The 10GB hotspot is PER phone on the account, not account level.

Interestingly I just discovered that in the app "analyze this" you can now draw arrows and highlight squares when sharing an image. That is the best I've seen for a mobile app. Seems pretty neat. It might not meet all your needs, but definitely seems like a start!

I totally disagree. I regularly want to explain a position to someone, and there is no easier way than drawing arrows and highlighting squares. As suggested by @munsami, it could be pretty easily implemented by having a toggle where you could add the arrows and highlights. This is similar to what the Analyze This app does, which I've found very useful.

I think it's simpler to just swipe through the screen to get the arrows drawn and click the legal squares to get the pieces moved (of course you won't be able to move the pieces by swiping the screen anymore but it's just simpler than clicking a toggle button where you might get beaten on time).

The connection to the same network is for using the remote portion of the app. Roku has recently combined everything into a single app, but it looks like the support pages aren't updated.
