Description

 

General Description:

 

Client is implementing a global practice management system across all of its member firms worldwide. The Integrated Business System (IBS) landscape includes SAP at the core (ECC, CRM, BW, PI, Enterprise Portal) integrated with external global systems.

The single point of entry, navigation, and unified application interface is SharePoint 2007. SPS hosts a portal site, all SAP applications, and integrates with a global document management system, risk system, and SPS collaboration sites.

The SAP ABAP Lead will have accountability for standards, best practices, and design guidelines for the back end functionality.

 

The SAP ABAP Lead will:

 

•           Act as an authority on the use of the ABAP framework

•           Own ABAP programs, standards and align with the Global Enhancement Framework.

•           Perform code reviews and technical design reviews

•           Performance analysis of ABAP code and suggest techniques for optimization

•           Drive the design and implementation of supporting a multi-language product

•           Build  technical designs and facilitate meetings for rapid review with the functional team 

•           Build prototypes to be used as models for repeatable implementation

•           Ensure consistent understanding of standards, design, tools, and implementation of functionality across developers

•           Drive the consistent use of ABAP across all developments

•           Provide guidance of Workflow strategy and object oriented programming using ABAP.

•           Drive the design and implementation of common reusable components for navigation, CRUD, internationalization, user interface, security, and help integration

•           Define development requirements for the technical architecture team including tools, environment, configuration, and system landscape

•           Attend functional GAP analysis meetings with business and provide direction on technical capabilities

•           Review functional specifications and provide feedback for content and structure

•           Ensure technical documentation is complete and accurate.

•           Develop High level and detail estimates for work packages defined

•           Perform Quality control – ensure standards, process, design, and implementation meet defined expectations

•           Provide guidance on complex technical issues.

•           Evaluate key technical resources

 

Skills

 

Must have:-

 

 

•           Bachelor's (or Master’s) degree in computer science or related field from an accredited university

•           Strong understanding of SAP architecture and development

•           At least 10 years of production grade experience with ABAP and 5 years in a technical lead role.

•           Experience in working on various SAP modules like Sales and Distribution, Finance and Controlling, Materials Management, Human Capital Management and Customer Relationship Management

•           Experience with Workflow, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Forms

•           Experience with BADIs,  Function Modules, OOPS concepts, LSMW, user exits etc.

•           Experience as a lead with the offshore delivery model

•           Working knowledge of the full software development life cycle (SDLC)

•           Experience with the SAP ASAP and agile development methodologies

•           Excellent communication & presentation skills

•           Consistent top level-type performer who can drive and mentor a technical team

•           Acted as a technical lead for at least 2 SAP implementations that included custom development using the SAP Netweaver development platform.

•           Solid knowledge of SAP Web Dynpro ABAP and ABAP framework and related tools

•           Experience defining standards, patterns, and reusable architectures

•           Experience with enterprise level development including application security, navigation, data locking, performance, internationalization

•           Ability to provide high level and detail estimates

•           Ability to create development plans and project schedules

•           Ability to architect enterprise and global application designs including multi-language capabilities

•           Ability to provide technical support to project team members

•           Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills

•           Ability to drive the development process and ensure compliance of project standards and deliverables

 

 

Technical Skills

 

•           Strong experience with web based application technologies

          Server side processing

          Browser rendering – HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS

          Web Server

•           Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production grade software based on SAP ABAP including:

          BAPIs, Function

          Workflow

          LSMW

          ALE and IDocs

•           Experience delivering objected oriented, maintainable, extensible and scalable design

•           Experience identifying and resolving application performance issues

•           Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and implementation of web services

•           Experience with BAPI, ALE, IDocs, Function Modules, Classes , LSMW etc.

•           Experience creating flow charts, sequence diagrams, component/class diagrams and logical/physical data models

•           Experience creating high level and detail design documentation.

 

Desired:-

 

•           Experience SAP ABAP, Web Dynpro ABAP

•           Experience in performance analysis and performance tuning

•           SAP Certification – ABAP

•           Understanding of SAP Functional Modules – Customer Relationship Management, Sales Distribution, Human Capital Management.
