Job Title: Data Analyst – Retail Bank Data Migration
Duration:
6–12+ months (extensions likely)
Location:
McLean, VA or Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Must work onsite hybrid starting week
1 (2-3 weeks max from the time of offer acceptance)
Zero exceptions will be made, as this is corporate policy- no delayed remote
start, no remote work
Overview
We are seeking Data Analysts
to support a large-scale initiative within a retail banking data organization
focused on migrating existing processes to new,
centralized data platforms.
This role is less about building new systems and more about understanding, validating, and transitioning existing data
workflows to improved data sources to drive adoption across multiple
business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and migrate existing
SQL/Python-based data processes to new data platforms
- Validate and reproduce current data
workflows to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Partner with multiple
downstream teams to support adoption
of centralized data products
- Troubleshoot data
discrepancies and ensure data
integrity during migration
- Support multiple teams
by providing reliable,
scalable data analysis solutions
- Document processes and
ensure smooth handoff across teams
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on
experience with SQL
(complex queries, joins, data validation)
- Solid experience with Python for data
analysis and scripting
- Experience working
with large
datasets and data validation processes
- Ability to understand and replicate
existing data logic rather than build from scratch
- Strong communication
skills and ability to work across multiple teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with Spark / PySpark
- Familiarity with AWS data tools
(S3, Glue, Redshift, etc.)
- Prior experience
within Capital
One or similar financial services environments
- Exposure to data migration or data platform
transformation initiatives

- Data Analyst with a practical, execution-focused
mindset
- Comfortable working in
environments where speed
and accuracy matter more than innovation
- Proven ability to step into existing processes
and improve/transition them efficiently
- Prior experience in enterprise data environments
preferred
Additional Notes

candidates with prior
Capital One experience or internal references
