Pay Rate: $55/hr. on C2C

About the Role
We are seeking skilled Backend Python Developers. This role involves a mix of new feature development (50%) and maintenance/optimization (50%), with priorities shifting based on business needs.
You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Compliance, InfoSec, Product, Sales, and Account Management.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
· Implement and optimize APIs for enterprise-level applications
· Work on database design and performance tuning (SQL/MySQL/MongoDB)
· Participate in the full software development lifecycle from inception to delivery
· Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret technical and business objectives
· Ensure code quality through unit and functional testing
· Support deployment and troubleshooting in Linux/UNIX environments
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
· 5+ years of software engineering experience
· Strong expertise in:
o Python (primary language)
o SQL/MySQL/MongoDB
o RDBMS and database design
o API development
o Unit/Functional Testing
o Linux/UNIX systems
· Experience with Agile methodologies and Jira or similar tools
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
· Java (not critical, but willingness to learn is a plus)
· Django / Flask / Elasticsearch
· AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, SQS)
· Kafka / Celery
· Microservices architecture
· DevOps experience
· Payment systems and WebSockets
Contract Details
· Bill Rate: Engineer II and Engineer II – Premium (please confirm exact rate)
· Term before conversion: Minimum 6 months, typically 12 months
· Conversion: Based on performance and business needs; no guarantee
· Visa Sponsorship: Currently unclear; likely no sponsorship for contractors, possible for FTE roles
Work Model
· Hybrid: 3 days onsite in NY office, 2 days remote
· Must be open to future full-time conversion
