In order to support the Linux Large project, the following tasks need to be done for each Oracle Schema in Unit, Model and Prod.
At a high level, there are about 1500 schemas, 1050 ESP schedules with about 2900 ESP jobs in total. For each Oracle schema and ESP schedule/job, the following needs to be done:
- Review standard scripts for differences between UNIX and Linux
- Test changes if needed to standard scripts
- Set up directories for DBA maintenance jobs on Linux servers by schema
- Alter ESP Jobs and maintenance job scripts
- Verify ESP schedules and changes
- Alter ESP schedules and jobs to point to ESP agents on instance level instead of server level
The individual can be a junior Oracle DBA but needs to have experience in Oracle, UNIX, Linux and ESP job scheduler. They must also have excellent communication skills.
