U-Report uses mobile technology through SMS to provide a forum of opinion and information sharing for youth and children in Haiti. Each member will have a profile consisting of various data fields such as age, district, village, gender, occupation and youth group membership.
Using a crowd-sourcing approach to initiate a SMS dialogue with the members (‘U-Reporters’) the ultimate aim of the program is to stimulate citizen-led, youth-led development and accountability of duty-bearers and service providers.
