NICAI Update:
1. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued Circular No. 4/2026, making it mandatory for all income-tax communications, including notices, orders, summons, and letters, to contain a Document Identification Number (DIN). This move aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and traceability in tax administration.
2. CBDT has issued Notification No. 01/CPC (TDS) / 2026, outlining the procedure for generating Unique Identification Numbers (UINs) for declarations filed in Form 121 under the Income Tax Act, 2025.
3. Here's what you need to know:
· The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has approved the implementation of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) for insurers, effective April 1, 2026.
· This move aligns India's insurance sector with global International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and aims to enhance transparency, consistency, and comparability in financial reporting.
4. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has amended the DIR-3 KYC framework to simplify compliance for directors. Here are the key changes:
· Filing Frequency*: Directors holding a DIN as on 31st March of a financial year are now required to file Form DIR-3 KYC Web once every 3 consecutive financial years, on or before 30th June.
· Updates*: Any change in mobile number, email ID, or residential address must be updated within 30 days through DIR-3 KYC Web, along with the prescribed fee.
· Unified Form*: Form DIR-3 KYC and DIR-3 KYC Web have been merged and replaced with a single form – DIR-3 KYC Web.
· Effective Date*: These amendments are effective from 31st March 2026.
