1. PAN Rules Changing from April 1, 2026: The era of "Instant PAN" using only Aadhaar is ending, and new rules are kicking in from April 1, 2026. Here's what you need to know:
2. No More Single Document Process*: Aadhaar alone won't be enough to get a PAN card. You'll need additional documents for Date of Birth (DOB) proof.
3. New Forms*: Form 49A and 49AA are being replaced by Form 93 (for Indians) and Form 95 (for NRIs). Old forms won't be accepted after April 1.
4. Name Matching*: Your PAN application name must match your Aadhaar record exactly.
5. Valid DOB Proof*: You'll need documents like Birth Certificate, Matriculation Certificate, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, or Magistrate-signed Affidavit.
6. Transaction Thresholds*: PAN quoting limits have increased:
- Cash transactions: ₹10 Lakh/year (from ₹50k/day)
- Property: ₹20 Lakh (from ₹10 Lakh)
- Vehicles: ₹5 Lakh
- Hotels/Events: ₹1 Lakh.
