Dear Community Member,
My Hindi feature film Salt Bridge (English subtitles) is releasing on 27 July 2017 at Greater Union Event Cinemas, Manuka. Booking is now open for limited discounted tickets at this link: https://www.trybooking.com/QZBJ
The film features two Bollywood actors (Rajeev Khandelwal and Usha Jadhav) and New Zealand-Australia based Chelsie Preston Crayford in the lead. Rajeev has acted in a number of Bollywood films and TV series which include Aamir, Table No.21 and Kahin To Hoga. Chelsie's claim to fame is mainly for her award winning performances in Australian TV - for instance for Underbelly: Razor she won the prestigious Logie Award and for The Code she won AACTA award. Usha has been adjudged Best Actress in India's most prestigious National Awards.
Salt Bridge has been shot entirely in picturesque locations in and around Canberra barring a few pick-up shots in Sydney. The main creatives (Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Art Director, Sound, Music, Make-up artist, Editor, post-production crew, and many more) of the movie are from Canberra. Most of the supporting casts are also from Canberra. It is a Canberra movie in true sense.
The film’s storyline is very relatable to all migrants. The performance, music and cinematography have been widely acclaimed.
Among the international acclaim Salt Bridge has already received, shortlisting of songs and music for the 88th Academy Awards (Oscars) is the greatest. The Oscar's Margaret Herrick Library has invited the film's screenplay to be archived in its permanent core collection - not many films can boast of such an achievement.
Salt Bridge is the first Hindi film produced in Australia. It will help Canberra cast and crew in getting some well deserved recognition. You will see many familiar places and maybe a few faces too on the big screen. Please watch Salt Bridge with your family and friends. It is classified PG.
See you there at the movies.
Kind regards
Abhijit Deonath
