Thanks to a world where a certain percentage of scientists are, in fact, mad, it's easy to imagine a future where, while mankind is sitting around worrying about diseases, pollution and fuel shortages, suddenly a hole opens in reality and Cthulhu shows up.
In a world where most comic book films are planned several years before their actual premier (you can thank the MCU for that), it can be quite surprising to hear that one is coming in the next two years despite very few details about it. However, this is exactly what's happening with the reboot of Kick-Ass.
