Licensed in 1996 by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the English-language Teletoon channel launched on October 17, 1997. It was originally owned by a consortium made up of various other Canadian specialty services and producers, The Family Channel Inc. acting as managing partner at 53.3% (Astral Media under The Movie Network & Western International Communications under Superchannel), YTV Canada Inc. at 26.7% (Shaw Communications), Cinar (now WildBrain) and Nelvana with 10% each. Corus Entertainment acquired WIC and Nelvana in 2000 and inherited the latter's stake.

Through various acquisitions over the years, ownership resulted in both Astral Media and Corus Entertainment owning a 50% stake in the service from 2006-13, they each owned 40% until then with Cookie Jar owning 20%. Currently, Teletoon is wholly owned by Corus Entertainment since January 1, 2014, becoming a sister station to YTV and Treehouse, and Astral's half was held in a blind trust held by Pierre Bolvin after Bell Media's purchase of Astral was finalised on July 5, 2013. Teletoon is also one of the 16 channels available on Corus' STACKTV platform.

On February 21, 2023, Corus announced that they would be rebranding Teletoon to Cartoon Network (with the current Canadian CN being relaunched as Boomerang) on March 27th. The Teletoon brand will continue use with the streaming service Teletoon+ and the French-language channel Tltoon.

Visuals: We see the early Teletoon border logo from 1998. Prior to that, the logo was only shown as an in-credit version or merely written in the same typeface as the show's credits, before the animated version was came out four years later.

Visuals: On a white canvas background, a bunch of lines form an oval with a bulge at the top right. There is also a smaller, narrower oval in the center of it. In the latter, the Teletoon logo at the time (which is "TELE" in a tall bold blue font and "TOON" in a crude thin black font. The "TELE"'s "E"s have raised tops to represent acutes for the French name, and the "TOON"'s "O"s are filled with white with blue dots on the bottom of them, along with a red curve below it, representing a smiling face) is drawn in with both pencil and paint as the oval outline fills with red. The logo bulges out a bit before becoming CGI. The logo slowly floats, as if it were in water, as "TELETOON is a registered trademark owned by TELETOON Canada Inc." appears below it in both English and French.

Visuals: On a blue/white gradient background, the new Teletoon logo can be seen unfolded in gold, which is "TELETOON" in a haphazardly sized and shaped font, with the raised tops again on the "E"s. Below it is "Original Production" in a black font. The logo constantly shines throughout and is also tilted up at an upwards angle.

Visuals: On a yellow gradient background, the Teletoon logo from before is seen in yellow with white text. Here, the text appears is refined and flatter. It quickly rotates to left, jittering a bit to reveal a flat surface with "ORIGINAL PRODUCTION" on it in white. The logo quickly rotates back to the right, jittering once more.

1st logo: On a black background, we see an orange lime on the right of the screen that looks stylized. The word fresh in lime green appears next to the lime in a chic-font. A second later, the lime drips to reveal TV.

On Stoked, the logo takes place on a water background. "Fresh" and the lime appear via a ripple effect, and when the lime drips, it splashes, revealing TV. It appeared on the majority of the first season starting with "Board and Confused".

2nd logo: On a white backdrop, we see lime green bubbles fly across the screen, forming the word Fresh (in the same font as the previous logo) and the lime. The lime turns around to face us and, like in the previous logo, drips, revealing TV.
