I find that people, particularly diy/makers, do not like being told they are doing something that's not all that hot when it seems to be working or has worked fine for them in the past. They simply do not see nor respect that perhaps the poster has already been where they are and found that their way was far from optimal. It is taken as an insult and they lash out. "It works great for me so you must be trying to be an arrogant a-hole towards me!" It happened a lot on the old MOGG. The R3D forum is ALOT like the old MOGG in that it's there for a new machine, with issues and a lot of new users and not all that much support anywhere else. So it gets redundant. We can expect a poster to post something that has been asked and answered before, but they did not bother to hunt for the answer on the forum. Same stuff. It not easy being patient with it.
