ThisI have noticed has been a HUGE requested feature throughout Google.

This is the Year 2023!! With a Firmware update along with updating the App this could be done. This should be a standard feature.

I have had my Doorbell for over a year and it so annoying having my normal Ringtone on my Android Phone as notification for the Doorbell!! On my iPad it uses the standard Ringtone for Facetime!! There is currently no possible way to change it.

Already having to address Arlo Solar Panel problem connected to Arlo 4 Pro (which finally got fixed yesterday by Firmware update), when is Arlo going to address this... If only I knew this annoying feature was there I would of looked elsewhere...

I have an Android Phone and and iPad, I DO NOT have an iPhone which is the link you directed me to. I have an Android Phone and an iPad as I mentioned above.

At the moment there is no way to change it on Android Phone or iPad. Why is this feature available for iPhone and not Android or iPad? There are just as many Android Phones out there!!

The norm is when bringing out a Product you make it available for all devices ie; Google Home is Android and they make it available across the board, even IOS.

Why do I get Emails saying that I got the answer to this problem within and to mark it as resolved. NO I did not get an answer to fix this problem The answer was for iPhone NOT Android.

So this problem still exists ty.

Arlo, when will you be providing a custom doorbell ringtone option for Android? While you're at it, why not just a notification instead of a call from my doorbell, especially when I'm home? I can see this has been an issue for years. I am just setting up my system, but will be returning it if it's true that Arlo has no intention of resolving this issue. It's one thing to have good cameras, it's an entirely different matter to have a crude security system. Notification customization is a pretty simple feature to program. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this issue.

Surely there has to be something a technology company can do to allow their customers to decide what notifications they need, especially if they are working from home. Other video door bell manufacturer's have this ability!

I totally agree, it is ridiculous, and especially with the several seconds of delay before that phone call comes, it was always distressing to me until I learned to ignore, that the phone would start ringing just as I was approaching the door to answer the doorbell. Especially the first few times, before I was used to that, and I let the incoming call go to voicemail but then couldn't find it! Was I losing my mind? No, the product designers were. Even after I understood what was going on, it would feel like too many things happening at once, and what if it was someone else calling about something important? Also annoying to fiddle with and cancel the call before I open the door, so that my visitor can have a welcoming experience. At best it delays answering the door and in most cases it means the person answering the door is slightly frazzled and has to apologize for those noises in the background, or if the doorbell annoyingly started prompting for a voicemail in a jarring mechanical voice while I was standing there trying to receive the person warmly.

Eventually I turned off the voicemail antifeature, and wish I could turn off the calls as well and just have the notification. Two-way communication could still be supported if clicking the notification brought up a screen in the app providing a push to talk function. If I could not do that, but could just set my own ringtone for the Arlo calls, at least then I could set a 30 second custom ringtone that makes an initial doorbell-like sound and then gets quieter as it goes. Maybe some people might still prefer the legacy call functionality but it could be made to support either mode.

Of course I know I would be dreaming to even request it, or to have any hope that it would ever be done, as it's very clear that Arlo has no intention of serving its smart home customers and does not understand their needs.

As there are zero replies to this query from both @JamesC and @ShayneS it just goes to prove that either they don't know the answer and can't be bothered to admit this or, if they repesent the company, the company has zero interest in the questions posted by their user-base.

I completely agreeIt sounds like this may be an archetecture desisn problem Cant make the doorbell a contact so cant give it a distinctive ring. Please adress this, should i upgrafe all my cameras? or go with Ring?? Im sure I am not the only one pondering this

For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.

I was trying to add a new contact and discovered that the Ringtones option has completely disappeared from editing in Contacts. The old contacts still show their individual ringtones (and the ringtones work when someone calls me) and I can still see the ringtones under "Sounds & Vibrations". But when I tap "edit" in Contacts, Ringtones does not come up.

I've looked up help videos that mention a sound picker app. My phone doesn't show it (or any way to get to system apps). Please help.

Okay, I can reach ringtones from there. But I used to be able to access it from the edit menu under the individual contacts and that has disappeared.

Is that a glitch with my phone, or just some new pointless and inconvenient change Samsung made in their last update?

I created a rubbishy drum beat track when I was just messing around with the Garageband App. Just playing with the options and I exported it as a ringtone. Now I can't get rid of it. Deleted it from the Garageband file area in iTunes, still appears in the list on the phone. Deleted it from Garageband using Garageband. Still appears in the ringtone list...

In the My songs page in GarageBand on your phone, tap edit and select any song (doesn't matter which one...if you have no songs just create a blank one right quick), and then tap the share button and scroll to Ringtone. If any pop-up message shows just click continue. Then tap "your ringtones" and hit edit; then you should see the red minus, which you can tap to delete the ringtone. This is the only way I've found to do it...it removes the tone from the "export ringtones" area you used to make it available as a ringtone in the first place. Doing this does indeed remove the tone from the list in Settings-Sounds. Hope this helps.

Same issue. I have a ringtone loop I cut in Garageband. Can't delete it. I even restored my phone to a backup I had from BEFORE I installed Garageband and the app was back, and the ringtone is not listed anywhere I know of to delete it, but still shows and plays in the Ringtone settings.

I deleted the app because I already export the ringtones that I like. But when I decided to remove those ringtones I install the app again and the minute I went to "My Songs" and made I new one to export because that's the only way I know how to get to "Your Ringtones" and deleted the ringtones, but when I click it the ringtones wasn't there. And I dont know how to delete it :(

hello, I had done as you suggested but ringtones have returned and now mysteriously disappeared even from Garageband .. I connected the iPhone to iTunes but the situation does not change: the ringtones are in settings and I can not find them for ultimate elimination.

Description

I want to add a custom ringtone. I see the delivered PCM binary files are SILK_V3 encodings (bin\ringtone\ringtone.xml).

So in theory I could create a pcm audio file with Audacity or ffmpeg from wav/mp3, then encode the raw audio with the Skype SILK SDK, add the ringtone file to ringtone.xml and localization.xml with a new ID and I should have a new ringtone.

I have no luck guessing the ringtone parameters (channels, sampling bits, endianness, frequency, etc.)

Can someone knowledgeable please state more details on the format, maybe a code snippet of a function I can use to open say Ukulele.pcm and play with it a bit? Thanks!

Some of my users use an external speaker puck as primary device for their phone calls. The volume they set for talking to people is too high for the ring when new calls come in. If they turn the volume setting down on the speaker to make the ringtone low, then the cannot hear the callers when answering a call. They then turn the volume up high on the speaker during their conversations. But unless they remember to turn the speaker volume down after the call, then the next ring is loud again. There needs to be a way to separate the volume for incoming ringtone from that used in a phone conversation.

Thanks for the reply @Ray_Harwood . However, we have looked into the Windows part of the equation too. The volume mixer uses the same device for the incoming ringtone as for the call itself so the issue remains the same.

in your Zoom Settings under Audio you should be able to select "Use separate audio device to play ringtone simultaneously" once they select this they should be able to adjust the volume slider for each device. They should be able to increase the external speaker volume and keep the headset volume lower or vise versa.
