Ican find lots of references to scanning software such as paperstream capture but no download links. This is a brand new (couple month old) $1000 scanner that we are unable to use do to a lack of software. Does anyone know where I can get the correct software or failing that a good free - low cost scanning software program?

Fujitsu provides both TWAIN and ISIS drivers, but TWAIN is usually what you want in most cases. The driver itself provides basic scanning functionality, but you can use Acrobat or whatever you want to actually acquire the scans.

I am told that it seems like the Laserfiche system gets confused from time to time and almost locks up. When it comes back, they need to indicate that they want to use the 7160 as the scanner. Removing the MFP is not an option, as the user needs to print.

Are you using Scan Connect or Twain as your scan source? I assume you are using Twain since I don't believe the HP has ISIS drivers available. You might want to consider using LF Scan Connect with ISIS drivers for the Fujitsu scanner. I can't promise that it would stop the lock ups but if that happened again when LF reopened, as long and it keep the scan source correctly (Scan Connect), then there would only really be one scanner that is hooked up with a driver for it to find.

Hi, I'm using Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner with Paperstream TWAIN driver. What's happening is, when I scan A4 size paper printed in landscape, it automatically rotates it in output image. Rotation is correctly happening but I just want the image to be the way as it's scanned. This kind of auto-rotation doesn't happen if I scan using WIA driver but the image output is not that sharp with WIA driver.

I have a user who has a Lenovo T480 Laptop running Windows 10 using a Lenovo USB 3.0 Docking Station with a Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner. She likes to use the 'scan' button on her scanner to start the scan in Acrobat. Every time she undocks her laptop to take it somewhere and then plugs it back in, the scanner button no longer works. I have to go into the Devices and Printers and the Scanner Event settings to re-associate the scan button with the Acrobat software. I have multiple users who use desktops with the scanners, and I never have to fix their scan button association. I have installed the latest Fujitsu Scanner drivers. I know this is likely a Windows or Fujitsu Driver issue, but I thought some other Acrobat users might have experienced the same issues.

A user with a Fujitsu fi-7160 on a PC with USB 3.0 and 16GB of RAM and DocuWare 6.12 is scanning using DW Scan. We had a issue with the scanner earlier and DW tech support helped us by making sure we had the 32 bit scanner drivers installed. The scanner works, however it takes forever (seriously, like 4 minutes) for a 2 page image to get from the scanner to the DW interface and then another lifetime to upload. Using TWAIN or WIA does not seem to change the performance. Other settings, (auto rotate, delete blank pages, color, greyscale) do not affect the performance either.

I am guessing that you only have 2 to 4 upload threads running as well. I have found that you can play with the number of uploads you can run and it can greatly improve the speed the images get upto the server.

Each of these are on the Client Desktop:

The number of paralell processing tasks are commonly set to 2 by default. You can increase this setting as follows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DocuWare\Desktop\DocuWare.DesktopService.exe.config"

change the following key with a text editor:

[...]

[...] Change the 2 to a higher number.I have one systems set to 35 and another to 12 so I would start at 8 to 12 and go from there either up or down.It really depends on memory and resources. Changes do not take effect until you restart the service (under admin services). If you have more than one scan-workstations, please don't raise the values too high because you can busy out the server and create a whole different problem.

TURN OFF Notifications over DocuWare Desktop Tray-IconThis can be disabled to lower the local CPU load.

You have more ways to do this. First option would be to disable it over the Control Panel\All Control

Panel Items\Notification Area Icons.

You can also disbable it in the:"C:\Program Files

(x86)\DocuWare\Desktop\DocuWare.Desktop.exe.config"over the following value:

[...]

These changes takes affect after restarting the DocuWare Desktop (Application)

Values for TrayNotificationLevel are any one of the following: Nothing, Error, Warning, Info Do not forget to turn on the OCR only if needed checkbox if you are not doing barcode recognition or OCR.Good luck

OK, that should be fine. Usually Fujitsu scanners work with USB redirection, but if not you can disable USB Redirection for the device, and try enabling SANE redirection to use the Scanner redirection built into Horizon, but the device has to have a locally supported driver in the OS

So just to follow up in case this helps anyone, the logon/logoff issue I think was a coincidence. However the reason the scanner never worked for the end user was that there was a policy in UEM preventing USB redirection for everyone but admin users. After modifying that policy the scanner works just fine for her.

@member you mean UEM > User Environment > Horizon Smart Policies? Because I am having a issue with USB redirection in general. USB redirection with Direct Connect to the vm works like a charm but from the moment we go threw the connection server we get no suitable devices. USB redirection is enabled on the connection server and no UEM smart policies.

If you're using Windows and you've installed a Fujitsu driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

I have been trying to install a scanner (fujitsu fi 7160) I have downloaded the relevant driver from the fujitsu website. Everything has been connected. Windows seems to pick up the device under printers and scanners but when I try to use the scanner itself within windows fax & scan or the Scan app from the Microsoft store, it does not seem to detect it.

It detects the device from a split second and then disables it within device manager. Every time I try to enable it, it displays in the scan app and then is disabled straight away. The error code I receive is 22. I've tried this in multiple USB ports. Is there any reason as to why this is happening?

Husband purchased the scanner on ebay (without checking first with me). It is not wifi and only has drivers and applications (dvd) for Windows. I downloaded VueScan, and the quality is horrible, luckily I only previewed and did not purchase. Any suggestions?

@DBR14 This will not work without a 3rd party provider. ScanSnap scanners do not use Twain drivers so the protocols will not pass through to AVD or W365 without a 3rd party app like TS Scan or FabulaTech.

Supported Operating Systems: To scan with Software VRS on Windows 10 and 11, your scanner must have a Windows 10 and 11 -certified ISIS driver. Check with the device manufacturer to confirm that your scanner will work with these operating systems.
