Thankfully a solution has finally come in the form of PrintHand Mobile Print Premium. The app itself is an Android port but that doesn't really matter to me since it actually works. I had very little trouble finding and connecting to my printer with the exception that the app itself continues to want to connect to WiFi even if WiFi is already turned on. I'm chalking that up to being an Android port in that it doesn't recognize the WiFi connection. Regardless I was actually able to print - however this is where my one big gripe comes in.
Currently the app only lets you print from your gallery, web pages, contacts, Gmail, contacts or Facebook albums. Notably missing is the ability to print any sort of document - PDF, XLS, DOC etc. I did contact the support team and was told that they are working on adding in PDF support so hopefully that isn't too far off.
At $4.99 the app is a bit steep, but to have a simple WiFi printing solution it's really not too much to ask. As I said, my biggest downer is that I can't simply print anything on my device at the moment. Added support for documents will make this a sure five-star app for me.

I tried both the PrintBot and PrintHand Mobile Print suggested apps, and although I can configure the Raw TCP as required, it seems those apps do not have a working driver for the Phaser 6000; I tried to use the Phaser 6510 driver both have in their driver list, but my printer just lights up the "!" led for a while and prints nothing.
I tried a dozen other remote/shared/wifi-print Android apps, including Mopria and Xerox Mobile Print, but none seems able to handle the Phaser 6000 correctly, and actually won't even allow me to setup the Raw TCP configuration.
With PrintHand Mobile Print Premium you can print photos, web pages, emails, attachments, contacts and files saved to various cloud services.
Many other apps, including Mail, Safari and Notes, allow you to copy something and paste it to PrintHand for printing or even share content to the printing app using the Action button.
One can print on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPrint, Windows Shared and Google Cloud Print printers.

Prior to purchasing the app we do recommend referring to the list of supported printers and printing a test page from the free PrintHand Mobile Print app.

In case your printer is not supported, direct printing from your mobile device might be impossible. However, printing from PrintHand Mobile Print Premium using PrintHand Remote desktop software installed on your computer is an option if you can print from your computer on the same printer.

Printing on Nearby wireless printers
Most of the Wi-Fi printers are detected automatically. PrintHand can print on such printers directly in case they are supported by the app.
As long as your printer is available from a Windows or Mac computer, you can print via the PrintHand Remote. To use it, please visit _printers.php to download the PrintHand Remote desktop software.
Print Hammermill app installed on your mobile device will find printers shared via the PrintHand Remote desktop app automatically. However, please note that your printer should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to which your mobile device is connected.

Also, you can print on printers located anywhere in the world via the Internet. This will require the same PrintHand Remote software installed on the computer at the receiving end, and a PrintHand Remote account registered. Printing from the PrintHand Mobile Print Premium remotely using the PrintHand Remote does not require any additional payments.
