Pre-College Drama is a six-week residential program for high school juniors and seniors that offers training and preparation for college auditions and interviews within an acclaimed drama conservatory. Each of the three options offered - Acting, Design/Production, & Musical Theater - has a different focus that will bring students unique experiences, challenging opportunities, and preparation for future theater endeavors. Through this program, students may find value in a wider, liberal arts undergraduate experience where they can explore all the opportunities afforded to them.
This program exceeded my expectations as a parent. I was pleasantly surprised by the rigor our daughter described, and how it genuinely seemed to simulate the BFA drama experience. I was also pleased to hear how much she enjoyed her teachers. James T., 2023 Drama Parent
I loved this program so so so much! My life was genuinely changed by this experience - having the full college experience before my senior year was such an incredible outlet that will help me inform my college decisions much more than my peers who did not attend programs. The drama program was wonderful - the faculty, staff, and students are all so talented, knowledgeable, and always strive for your best interests. Zoe W., 2023 Drama Student

Miscommunication is a common occurrence online and on social media. Plus, being behind a screen makes it easier to say things they wouldn't say in person. So how do we help students avoid the pitfalls of digital drama? Help them learn tips on avoiding online drama in the first place and de-escalating drama when it happens.
No posts where OP either is part of the drama and is saying "This other person is totally wrong and I was right" (validation seeking) or caused the drama and is saying "look how awful I am, I made all this drama happen" (awfulbrag).
Posts need to include sufficient sources or evidence to back up claims specifically relating to the core drama, such as through links and screenshots (with personal information redacted). Sources can either be linked in the text or included as a list at the end of the post, or in the comments. If sources are linked in the comments, said comment(s) must be posted as soon as the post goes live.
Most drama between professionals is not hobby drama, e.g. professional sports teams, YouTubers, streamers, actors, scientists, etc., unless the professionals are interacting with hobbyists/fans. Current events, news, real-world politics, following a social media account, and being internet famous do not qualify as hobbies. Mods reserve the right to make exceptions for particularly bizarre or niche write-ups.
Drama must have active involvement by hobbyists to qualify as hobby drama. It cannot be a contained event between professionals where hobbyists had no involvement or no impact on the perception of the occurrence. A TV show finale being bad isn't hobby drama; the fandom reaction leading to it being called 'the worst TV finale ever' might be.
A high-quality, well thought-out post about a dramatic event in a hobby space. Readers overwhelmingly prefer posts which lay out the history, stakes, events, and consequences of the drama, and which include receipts like screenshots or chat logs. Posts should have minimal direct involvement by the poster and not be overwhelmingly biased, and any personal information of participants who are not public figures must be censored.
With learning opportunities on the stage and behind the scenes, drama majors will master one of the following areas: acting, design, directing, K-12 theatre arts licensure or theater history, as well as front of the house management. We also offer student positions in the scene shop, house electrics, and the costume shop, as well as internships with local theater companies. Drama majors can grow their technical theater skills by joining the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), while Alpha Psi Omega, the national theater honor society, produces student shows and events.
The collection provides insight into the history and development of the field of theatre for young audiences, the implementation of drama in education programs, theatre in education, and, with it, of the performing arts for young audiences worldwide. The various materials document the history of the field, the educational work of its practitioners and form its memory.

Students may select drama as a major through the Performing Arts Department. This major combines the historical, cultural, theoretical and literary study of theater and performance with a full array of theater arts courses, including acting, directing, performance art, design (set, costume, lighting), stage management and playwriting. The Performing Arts Department strongly believes in the mutually beneficial relationship between the study and the practice of theater. A major in drama develops students' knowledge of theater by means of rigorous, immersive studio and lab courses, along with a strong and comprehensive grounding in theater history, dramatic literature, performance studies and dramatic theory.
Historical Practice courses, of which majors select three, provide an expansive, global and historical study of theater and performance; students take an additional two courses in theater and performance studies. Within the theater arts, students choose courses in acting, directing, playwriting or design. Our theater arts courses are based on a liberal arts model rather than a conservatory model. During the senior year, a capstone experience is required for all drama majors.

As living beings who encounter every kind of traumatic event from paper cut to myocardial infarction, we must possess ways to heal damaged tissues. While some animals are able to regrow complete body parts following injury (such as the earthworm who grows a new head following bisection), humans are sadly incapable of such feats. Our means of recovery following tissue damage consists largely of repair rather than pure regeneration. Thousands of times in our lives, a meticulously scripted but unseen wound healing drama plays, with cells serving as actors, extracellular matrix as the setting, and growth factors as the means of communication. This article briefly reviews the cells involved in tissue repair, their signaling and proliferation mechanisms, and the function of the extracellular matrix, then presents the actors and script for the three acts of the tissue repair drama.

The interdisciplinary nature of the BA degree in drama provides students with innovative tools that use the arts as a medium for social justice, encourage collaborative change, and grow community empowerment through creative work. BA Drama students are encouraged to develop connected understandings in other disciplines and fields as they practice for future leadership positions. Students can enroll in courses focused on performance, design, technical production, theatre management, theatre for young audiences, theatre studies and more. A strong foundation in the study of drama alongside minors, second majors, or study abroad, helps prepare students for graduate programs or professional employment in the arts and supports an entrepreneurial spirit of creative social engagement.
