Forgive me if this is a silly question, I'm two days into using Autocad Electrical, coming from standard autocad. I'm simply trying to use the wire tool to join a pin on a contactor coil to a pin on a custom symbol I built. I have zero idea about standard techniques in ACE so I'm likely drawing/linking the relay contact combo wrong but when i try join A2 from the coil to pin AO of U1, the wire will take a very strange path to get there.

Ok I can't find anywhere for how to set up reference inside projects. I just want my parent components to reference where it's child components are. Currently all I am getting is "???" I do have a custom title block but I tried opening a blank autocad title block and dropping some components in and it doesn't reference them either. I take it there is something that has to be set up but I just can't find it. I want the cross reference to mach my title block.

I sometimes get stuck in situations like this and basically I would try a series of things. Do all of the things you have already redone. Save all of you files close out autocad and open it back up. Then do a retag/update on it. That is what I would do when nothing else is working.

I am having a issue where my source arrows going to the right are much bigger than any other direction. I am using NFPA library. See below. When I open HA1S1 and HA1S3 the sizes look the same! I have done this before in the past but cannot figure it out. Just updated to 2022 electrical from 2021 electrical because of new computer. Could I please have some help? I have shown small example of what I am getting below. Maybe inches to mm?? 25.4

I do have a "standard drawing set" that I use as my baseline for every project I do. I use the project tools to copy my standard project over to create new ones, that way I'm always starting from my most recent and updated version of things. I have tried closing autocad, rebooting my laptop, and doing project wide titleblock update with only one drawing open, several drawings open, project active but no project drawings open, etc. I just can't get it to work.

hi, i am struggling with autocad electrical 2018. i am brand new to autocad ad fairly new to drawing, but been an industrial sparky for 10 years so i know what i want to draw and format, just no idea on the ins and outs of the software world. i want to get my schematic catalog updated so that i have more manufacturers selection than just allen bradley. i have searched online and everyone says to just add them via control panel yet as many have said, it does not add them to catalog browser in schematic page or to manufacturers menu in panel page. i dont even know if these two correspond to each other or if they are two different issues. i have tried reinstalling autocad electrcal, downloading default.mdb file from autodesk website and migrating it aswell as anything else i can find but clearly i am doing something wrong or missing something. the end result i am hoping for is to have a decent catalogue of parts for schematics, as well as a good panel layout catalogue for footprints, i shouldnt need to draw a schneider contactor and overload etc surely?

yeah, i have went through all that and added the companies i felt were needed, but upon loading autocad it didnt add or change anything? or at least when i go to catalogue browser it only has allen bradley and when looking in manufacturers menu in panel tab there is also only allen bradley? thanks

I am needing to update my autocad from Autocad 2018 to a newer version. I want to switch to the Autocad Electrical because that is the type of drawings I am completing however I have never used it before. I am wondering if you can still use the base autocad on older customer drawings.

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed I have never worked with Electrical Cad, and think it would be very beneficial to the electrical I do. JAllen's post does help in the long run when I do or can convert older non standard projects to the new version.
