Manymany things that God says to us in the scriptures tell us again and again about the wonderful miracle of changed lives. But you probably notice when you look at yourself in the mirror or when you really get to know other people who follow Jesus that this greatest miracle of all, a changed life, takes some time and hard work. If you look at yourself in the mirror, you probably know there are many things that are still not like Jesus.

As you know, the work that Martin Luther did has affected many millions of people. Today, there are people in many, many countries who are beginning to understand these things that we are talking about tonight, and it is growing very quickly. It may seem like you are alone, but you are not alone at all!

Can you imagine being there in Matthew 14:16-20? To be able to see the fish and the bread being created out of thin air? Fish that, at one moment did not exist, and all of a sudden skipped the growing process, were instantly aged, and cooked and tasty?

But then you quickly realize that they were consumed and disappeared within minutes by the five thousand men who ate them, and even the twelve leftover baskets eventually were consumed or thrown away. So, we must keep looking.

It would certainly be astonishing to witness, but I think 2 Peter 3:7 shows how temporary this miracle is, since it tells us that earth and heaven will be destroyed by fire. Therefore, that miracle, though incredible and impressive, will one day cease to be. Therefore I must keep searching.

The beauty is that this miracle is a miracle that still happens today. There are people all over the world that God is saving and transforming, and we believers are given the task to be the instruments God uses to do it.

Let the desire to see this miracle occur, be one of the greatest motivations for your evangelism, because God, alone, gets the glory for doing it. Witnessing this miracle is one of the main ways God causes us to give Him the glory that only He deserves.

It was an incredible moment when our second grandchild was born. My wife and I actually got to be in the birthing room only minutes after his arrival. There was that fragile, precious little handful of baby boy, and then across the room was that amazing life-support system they call the placenta. I couldn't help but flash back to the birth of our youngest child. His delivery was the first one I was allowed by the hospital to be there for. (That was in the very old days, you know.) And I'll never forget our obstetrician's comment immediately after the baby and the placenta had come. He looked at me and he said, after having had this experience hundreds of times, "This is the greatest miracle known to man."

Our obstetrician was almost right. The birth of a baby is the second greatest miracle known to man. The greatest miracle is that moment when a person like you or me is spiritually born into the family of Almighty God! If you've been born into His family, you know you have. Believe me, my new grandson knew something had changed dramatically! He didn't understand it, but he knew it had happened!

If you don't know you've become God's child through a spiritual birth, then you probably haven't. You don't have to understand it all, most people don't when they're reborn, but you will know that it happened. A baby like our son or our grandson is born to a life that will last 80, 90, maybe even 100 years at best. When a person is born into God's family, they're born into eternal life. They get heaven forever!

The greatest miracle of all here is described in our word for today from the Word of God in John 1:12. It can help you understand exactly how spiritual birth really works. Speaking of Jesus Christ, God says, "To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." Sometimes you'll hear people say, "We're all God's children." Not according to the Bible. We're all God's creation, but you have to be born spiritually to be His child. And you can't get into His presence; you can't get into heaven if you're not His child.

In fact, Jesus said, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3). That's actually where the words "born again" originated - with Jesus Himself. How does it happen? John 1:12 tells us that you become a child of God when you "receive Christ" and when you "believe in His name." Receiving Him means consciously welcoming Jesus, realizing who He is; realizing why He came. You know if you've done that or not.

Jesus, this name you have to believe in, means "Jehovah saves." So when you "believe in His name," you're telling Jesus that you're taking Him as your personal Rescuer from the death penalty for your sins, because He's the only One who died for them. Which brings us to the eternal life-or-death question: has there been a time when you've done that? If not, do you want there to be? Would you like to go to bed tonight being able to say, "I belong to Jesus. I know I do. I've been born into God's family. I know I have. I'm going to heaven when I die. I know I am"? Then tell Jesus today that He's welcome to come in that you are pinning all your hopes for heaven on Him.

You want that? Well, then I would encourage you to go to our website, because it really is set up to help you walk through beginning a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and knowing that you've done it. That website is ANewStory.com. I think your new beginning maybe could happen there.

Of course, our greatest blessing is that we are children of a loving God. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

These days, the menorah is lit at sunset each night of Hanukkah. Candles are added from right to left, like Hebrew is read, but they are lit from left to right. Doing so celebrates the new miracle of continued light on each successive night. The blessings that are recited include praise for the One who provides the light and continues to perform miracles now.

Oftentimes, children and adults play the dreidel together. The game uses a four-sided spinning top that has a Hebrew letter imprinted on each side; together the four letters are an acronym for Hebrew words referring to the miracle of the oil.

I hope you all got some value out of my last post on the current conditions of the human community. I look forward to hearing all about how each and every one of you is going out there and changing the world one person at a time.

We will now get back to the ten part series that began with the brief outline of the 10 steps to becoming the greatest salesman in the world, as outlined by Og Mandino in his book, The Greatest Salesman in the World.

Out of the 7 billion people on the planet, there are none like you. Your mind, your heart, your spirit, your body. They are only yours and no one else shares them. They did not exist before you and they will never again exist after you. Although we all share similar characteristics as human beings, the elements of your being that shape you are unique to you and you alone.

In the comments section below every post, I would love to hear not only how the suggested action worked for you, but also other actions from your own life that have generated results. This space will serve as a means to inspire the community here to stretch beyond their limits and find success.

Three days ago, I went on a 16 mile run. Ten miles into the run, I looked up to face my next challenge. A steep hill that stood between me and mile 11. My legs ached, my stomach growled and I needed water. Taking a few sips from my camelback, I pushed onward one step at a time. Before I knew it, I got up the hill only to face the next one at mile 13.

So my suggested action for today is to do something that scares you, even just a tiny bit. Before every long run, I feel a bit of anxiety, just as I do before any big adventure or public speech. But it is that anxiety that makes me realize that I am doing something worthy of my greatness. Those butterflies let me know that I too have the wings to fly. For it is only when we leap into that unknown do we find access to possibility.

Go out there and do something that unites the four elements of your being. Connect your mind, body, heart and spirit. When they are in balance and you find that harmony, you will step into a higher level of your being.

Many Americans will celebrate Easter with candy, plastic eggs, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and maybe some extra family time. While these things can have their place, it's important that we understand the implications of this historic Christian holiday.

Easter is a day set aside for the international recognition of Jesus' resurrection from the dead. His resurrection is the greatest miracle ever, and it provides the greatest distinction religiously, while at the same time, making people the greatest offer in human history.

First, consider that miracles abound in the New Testament. The feeding of the five-thousand, Jesus walking on water, and the numerous healing miracles all serve to validate His divinity, but no miracle validates His divine nature like the greatest miracle, His personal, bodily resurrection. Literally everything a Biblical Christian believes hinges on the truth of Jesus' resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:17 says it this way, "If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."
