the Rainier playfield (Rainier and Alaska- where the teams were
divided the first day). come with uniforms (hats, shirts, gloves) if

eli won't be able to make it friday. he is going home with a classmate
after school until i get home at 630 or 7pm. too bad.

hope to see you saturday. the "practice" is now 11 - 1 at the Rainier
#2 field (usual practice site). we'll scrimmage each other if there
are enough kids.

See the email below. Sounds like Saturday May 26th may be a fun day to
see some of the other kids in the league and play with some new folks.
Let me know who is interested in playing an hour game that morning
(would be a mix of players from different teams) so I can give Stuart
a head-count.

To all RDLL coaches, players, and families,
Dewey Soriano Day *
The Dewey Soriano Day is the league's summer kick off on the saturday
of memorial day.

All RDLL kids and families are encouraged to come, it is a lot of fun.
It's Saturday May 26, games start at 9am, BBQ at 11:30am.
There will be divisional pick up games, a home run derby, and BBQ.

Divisional games:
These are pick up games, 2 hours in length, for any player from each
division.
PLEASE rsvp to your coach if you intend to play.
Coaches, I need the number of kids from your team who intend to play.

Tball and TnToss will have games every hour at 9, 10, 11, and 12 on
Rainier #1.
Coach pitch: 9am, Rainier #3
Rookies: 9am, Rainier #2
Minors: 11am, Rainier #3
Majors: 11am, Rainier #2
Juniors vs any and all RDLL Coaches at 2pm, Rainier #2
Softball: 2pm, Rainier #3
HOME RUN DERBY: 1pm! Rainier #2. We'll set up the fences and blast
some balls!

BBQ and Potluck:
Starts at 11:30am to 1:30pm, RDLL will provide hot dogs, chips, water,
grills, plates, etc.
Bring what you can to add to the mix.
We need parents to help set up and run the BBQ.

Coaches:
Please send on this email to your players/families.
Try to let us know how many kids from your team will be playing.
You are encouraged to participate in the juniors/coaches softball game
at 2pm!
We need coaches to run the games for each division.

* Dewey Soriano was general manager of the Seattle Rainiers, a Pacific
Coast League team that played in Sick's Stadium at Rainier Avenue
South and South McClellan Street. He was instrumental in bringing
Seattle its first taste of major-league baseball in 1969 with the
Seattle Pilots. As a youngster, he sold peanuts at Seattle Rainier
games, and he pitched for Franklin High School, where he and Fred
Hutchinson were teammates.

Hello Raider's:

1. Please let me know if your child will play in one of the pickup games on saturday (and let me know which time- 9, 10, 11 or 12). So far I only have a confirmation that Maxxon will play but I don't know which time. I will plan on replying to Stuart (in charge of the league) tonight.
2. I suspect we'll have practice today despite the rain but remember that you can call the rain line to find out if the field is closed: 206 233-0055.
