WWD Annual Membership Meeting

The annual WWD membership meeting will be held on Sunday, June 19th at approximately noon at Salle Auriol Seattle. All current WWD members are encouraged to attend. We will briefly recap the current season and discuss plans for the WWD in the 2022-2023 season.

We will also be electing the WWD Officers for the 2022-2023 season. All current WWD members age 18 or older are eligible to vote. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may submit a vote by proxy. For information on how to do this, please contact dber...@gmail.com.

Most of the current officers are running for re-election, so the slate of proposed officers is as follows:

Chair: Dan Berke
Vice Chair #1: Kevin Mar
Vice Chair #2: Alan Geller
Vice Chair #3: Rachel Peterson
Treasurer: Vacant
Secretary: Mike Reiter

Candidates for any position may also be nominated from the floor at the meeting.

Our current treasurer, Sylvie Troxel, is stepping down at the end of this season so we are looking for a volunteer that would like to take on this role. The duties of the treasurer include:

- Managing the WWD checking account and maintaining all Division financial records
- Collecting event fees and paying event expenses from the WWD checking account
- Filing the annual Division Financial report with the USFA
- Reporting on the Division finances at the WWD annual meeting
- Attending all WWD-run events (qualifiers, the Battle in Seattle, and Division Championships) and assisting in the planning of the events
- Maintaining a current USFA membership (access, competitive, coach or life) with the +CheckEd add-on (the WWD will cover the $20 cost for this add-on)

While all officer positions are unpaid volunteer positions, officers may fence for free at WWD-run events and are paid a nominal rate for their time at the WWD-run events they attend (when not fencing but helping organize the event.)
