FRED Announces the Referee Seminar with Justin Meehan

RCFC presents the official referee seminar, hosted by certified referee instructor Justin Meehan. This seminar is an important part of the process to become a rated referee.

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Rain City Fencing Center

This seminar will cover everything you need to know to become a rated referee. We will cover rules, procedures, calling the action, details of right of way, and more.

Fencers, parents, and coaches are welcome to attend, to learn about referees and how to interact with them.

The seminar runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a lunch break.

We strongly recommend that you review the official rule book before you come to the seminar, and make notes of any areas where you have questions. You can find the rule book online here:

Upon completion of the seminar and the online exam, you can be observed for an official rating. Justin will be available to observe referee candidates at the Western Washington Foil/Epee Challenge tournament on Sunday, November 3rd at RCFC.

The price is $90 per person. RCFC accepts cash, checks, and credit cards. RCFC members may have the clinic fee billed to their account.
