Web/Systems Administrator
Location: Reston, VA
Sr. Web/Systems Administrator to join Cloud Operations Team.
Based out of Reston, VA. Candidate will have an integral part in
the operations of products and services into our Production Data
centers and ensuring superior service delivery to our customers.
The person applying for the role of Web Systems Administrator
III is expected to manage, tune, monitor and troubleshoot
application and web servers as well as the Tomcat and JBoss
based applications running on them. This individual is a
creative quick thinker and able to identify solutions as well as
socialize them out to the rest of the team.
Job Duties include:
· System Management of all web applications and
supporting tools
· Monitoring and optimizing the performance of these
environments (i.e. memory, disk space, availability, etc.)
· Collaboration with the other system and database
administrators in the Cloud Operations in maintaining the hosted
applications
· Researching, evaluating, installing, creating and
configuring new tools and processes
· Tomcat/JBoss Application and Apache web server
installation, maintenance and issue triage
· Performance Management
· Support of the Application/Server environment
(availability, backup, recovery, batch processing)
· Maintaining system security policy, including load
balancers, host and client access, file permissions, user
accounts, etc.
· Acting in a technical leadership capacity
· Create/Modify technical process documentation
· Assist in the training of the entry level Operations
teams
Required Qualifications:
· B.S. Computer Science, Information Systems or
equivalent experience
· 3-7 years Unix system administration and J2EE
application experience
· Experience with Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Linux
· Relevant Industry Certifications a plus (RHCE, VCP,
SCSA, CCNA, JNCIA-FWV)
· Experience with Oracle 10g-11g a plus
· Experience with shell scripting
· Performance analysis and tuning
· Strong problem solving skills
· Works effectively with a minimum of direction
· Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced
environment
· Willingness and ability to handle firecall duties
· Must be able to qualify for/obtain a US government
clearance
