Sat Nam,

Happy New Year

May 2011 bring you much love, peace and prosperity

Today I googled Sohan Kaur to check that I had the correct email address and saw for the 1st time  3HO site with her photo together with Ongkar Singh and Padmani Kaur and my heart moved. I only remember getting an email early in the Autumn from the newly set up rainbow-sangat discussion group last EYF. I replied but never heard back - may be others email had been sent but I didn't see them.

Do you think that it'd be possible for me to join you three in the group and commit to develop our sangat?

If so do you have any ideas for next EYF and would it possible for me to do something with you three?

Just a brief feedback on the chosen name - I prefer the name The Rainbow Sangat (lesbians, gays and their friends) because it sounds better. If you put the word queer then you'd have to include dyke. In my opinion, the word queer is redundant and political, and I don't think it'd be wise to encourage unnecessary political debates.

Blessings,

Raghurai Singh

Sat Nam Dear Rainbow Sangat,

New Year Blessings to all.

I felt very blessed to participate in the Rainbow Sangat meetings at last years yoga festival.
I would very much like to be involved in anyway to help develope and move the group forward.

In reply to Raghurai's comment on the groups name; The Rainbow Sangat (lesbians, gays and their friends) it maybe better to use the name, The Rainbow Sangat (lesbians, gays, bi sexual and transgender). I feel the LGBT term maybe more relavent and clear for the group. Also I feel the clarity within the name can be more welcoming and inclusive.
I look forward to any further thoughts/ feelings on this term.

with so much love and light
Surinder Kaur

Sat Nam Dear All from Rainbow Sangat,

longtime we've heard something new about this positive initiative... I'm wondering if the things we discussed last year will be worked out somehow on the yogafestival in France...

I'd really appreciate if we could have a Rainbow Missel group this year. If anyone would react by mail who desires the same, Rughurai Singh and Sohan Kaur (and the others) will have more reason to apply for this...

hear from you!!  Blessings

Sat Nam dear Rainbow Sangat,

I'm glad to hear from Christophe and wonder what's happening with our Rainbow Sangat?

I'm missl leader at the Gurdwara so can't actually do this one I'm afraid. However, 2011= (4) the house of the sangat and Guru Ram Das and the entire theme of this year is influenced by aspects of 2: longing, sexuality, duality and 11(2) in double duality with your sexuality or spiritual alignement with the One through Guru Ram Das and the sangat or community.

I guess we're pushed for time to apply for a slot at EYF, but for the past 6 years I have organized and taught One for the Heart workshops for the Guru Ram Das Project in London - see www.grdp.co.uk  I'd love to put something together with anyone feeling inspired about The Heart of sexuality, and spirituality at the House of Guru Ram Das. Otherwise, I'm happy to support our Rainbow Sangat gathering in any way I can.

Sweet blessings,

RS

Sat Nam,

this is a good idea. I will be at the festival and would like to support this, but because the circumstances of my life have changed very hard, I can’t do anything before the festival.

Love and light

Sat Nam dear Onkar Singh & Sat Darshan Singh,

Since last year's EYF I sent several emails to the Rainbow sangat with very little or no response from anyone. More recently I sent out a link  from an interesting website www.sarbat.net which I think have interesting information for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) Sikhs, and Kundalini Yoga community.

I'm happy to gathered some material and interesting quotations from Sarbat and follow up the discussion from last year's group.

I'm at the Gurdwara Missl so I'm not able to lead another missle group. I don't know if a formal application needs to be made to EYF organizers, Satya Singh, but perhaps the same people , Onkar Singh, Padmami Kaur, and Sohan Kaur can hold the space and I'm happy to help out.

Blessings,

RS

sat nam everyone,

soon we'll meet again at the EY festival... yeah, i'd loved to have a "rainbow missel" for "lgbt and friends", it would make it so easy to spend some time together and do a seva at the same time...
this would be a natural way of sharing!

I'm also very engaged in 'Yoga Teachers 4 Africa'. On the festival we'll do some promotion for the project. But if there's the possibility of a Rainbow Missel I'm ready to help in any way I can. Just don't know who can get thru to the organisation so that the missel group is also announced on the board when people register.

Love & RB Light!

Sat Darshan Singh
