Subject: Protest family separation at the border information

Attached is a PDF that can be used as a protest poster regarding family separation at the border.  It works well with some cardboard and a paint stirring stick!

A protest is scheduled at JC Nichols Fountain on the Plaza June 24th 2-4 pm.  Sponsored by Cosecha KC - see below

I will give $50. This is a "Poor People's" march & Rev. King gave his "I Have a Dream" inspirational speech at a rally for "Jobs & Freedom"; I feel the direct connection! Rainbow's Rev. Bohn spoke often on Sunday mornings about the impact the presence of white people was when we were seen working for civil rights. That's why at 10 years old (almost 11😊) I urgently wanted to go to Washington, DC! When the nightly news showed snippets of the huge crowds I realized why my mom didn't want her little girl to go, but I also picked out the white faces in the crowd and really understood what Rev. Bohn was talking about....we have to show, even this many years later, that non-black people care, also.

Found in today’s Rainbow News (6/13/18:

The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is organizing state-by-state to unite people across the U.S. to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, war & Creation degradation. Click here to learn how you can be involved in both Kansas and Missouri.

*Note: Kansas PPC continues to seek outright tax deductible donations to help defer expenses and to send busloads of people to the national demonstration to Washington, DC in mid-June. The Rainbow Peace and Justice Network decided to contribute $300 toward this cause. If you would like to help replenish the Rainbow Peace and Justice Network Fund or if you would like to contribute directly to the KS Poor People’s Campaign, contact Sallie Page-Goertz or Pastor Ruth. T-shirts for the Poor People’s Campaign will be available in the fellowship hall after worship on Sunday.

Sallie: put Marsha and me down for $25!
