Hello Fellow Rainbow Developers,

I hope this message finds you well. I write to you today to inform
you of some of the efforts a few of us have done. Some of us have
been working on a better version of Rainbow that runs on .NET 4.0 ,
IIS 7 and SQL Server 2005/2008. We took the latest versions from the
rainbow Google code and worked on it in a more full life cycle between
a few companies.

We have produced a re-branded version named AppleSeed. Today I put
the first binary into Google. If you would like to check it out and
offer feedback please check out the blog entry :

http://appleseedapp.com/2010/09/27/how-to-install-appleseed/

Demo : http://anantwebserver1.anant.us/appleseed_test/

I need to know how it performs on other boxes and operating systems
( Windows Vista and up).

If you find any issues, you can contact me on twitter : http://www.twitter.com/ramseur

Technically this build should be able to update old rainbow sites
seeing how it uses the same update system. I caution that you must
have your directories in the portals dir transfered over and custom
module dll's transfered. Old themes "should" work but we have added 3
new ones ;).

A short list of Features:

Runs on IIS7 Integrated mode on ASP.NET 4.0 ( required)
Runs on MVC 2.0
Master Pages support by default
Drag & Drop modules in admin mode
ASPNETDB User, Role , Profile Support
MeeboMe and MeeboBar Support
3 New themes that use Master Pages and offer a better design
Improved Installer
Http Compression for faster page loads
Multi-portal support
Better Icons

Regards,

Eric Ramseur
