In the wake of a Nipah outbreak in Kerala's Kozhikode district, the ICMR has delivered the antibody requested by the state to combat the deadly virus. A mobile laboratory was also sent to ground zero to enable the state to test samples.
The m102.4 monoclonal antibody, an experimental therapeutic, was imported during the 2018 Nipah outbreak for the treatment of infected patients on compassionate grounds. It was not used back then as the outbreak had ended by the time it arrived.
In a film for the BBC Magazine, Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava talks through his designs for the new St. Nicholas Church - the only non-secular building on the 9/11 Memorial site. The building, which broke ground last year, has been described by Calatrava as a "tiny jewel" for lower Manhattan, comprising of a white Vermont marble shrine sat beneath a translucent central cupola that is illuminated from within. The new church, of Greek Orthodox denomination, replaces a church of the same name which was destroyed during the attacks of 9/11. It is sited close to its original location on 130 Liberty Street, overlooking the National September 11 Memorial park and museum. With the building set to open in early 2016, Calatrava discusses the key conceptual ideas and references behind its unique, controversial design.
At ground zero, Vice President Kamala Harris is due to join the ceremony on the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum plaza. The event will not feature remarks from political figures, instead giving the podium to victims' relatives for an hourslong reading of the names of the dead.
Yet these four languages (and one more: Bengali) are offered in schools as Non-Tamil Indian Languages. Students of these five ethno-linguistic backgrounds have been able to study their own mother tongue for the PSLE and GCE examinations. I have not.
One woman in Thrissur refused to leave her home without help to rescue her 25 dogs, so HSI India's team arranged for their shelter at a nearby veterinary hospital so that they and the woman could be safe. Our team is encountering many animals who have perished. However, we are still finding abandoned dogs and were recently able to rescue 13 dogs and a kitten we found trembling as the floods raged around them.- HSI's Sally Varma who is on ground zero saving animals said
For people living between +23.5 and -23.5 degrees latitude, the Sun's declination will be equal to their latitude twice - once during Uttarayan and once during Dakshinayan. On these two days, the Sun will be exactly overhead at noon and will not cast a shadow of an object on the ground. This Zero Shadow Day will clearly be different for different places on earth.
Parvathy is the soul of the films and holds the film together through her histrionics. The film is based on actual events and thanks to her efforts we kind of feel we are in the middle of actual ground zero, fearing for our lives and looking constantly for a way out of the situation.

It's very sad that so many Indians regard Indian languages as unworthy of cultivation and active use. India seems to be ground zero of the modern ESL ideology that fluency in English is something to be actively pursued at all costs (including expessive fluency in one's native language).
The whole week was like festival time for the locals. The fairground being sandy, dust would rise throughout the day with the movement of people and animals. Some children would roam with baskets to collect dung. Hawkers would sell tea with burning stoves underneath the container. Some others sold vadas and other snacks fried in coconut oil. There were also children selling parched chicken peas and groundnuts.
There would be traders selling various bamboo products such as baskets, winnows, and sticks. Some would sell vessels made of bronze, wooden mortars, pestles and traditional measures like para, changazhi and nazhi. Most of them would camp at the site for some days before moving to another place where festivals that attracted large crowds were held. Barbers would move around the area, offering their services. Petromax lamps that attracted flying insects would flood the ground with bright light at night. But now these cattle fairs have disappeared.
The planned study will focus on the neighborhoods of Maharajgung (northern part of Kathmandu) and Panga (Kirtipur municipality, adjacent to Kathmandu). In Maharajgung, local communities, supported by the local ward office and an NGO, have adopted the zero waste concept and promote waste reduction, reuse, recycling (composting) and recovery with a participatory approach. In Panga, a user-fee-based public-private partnership emerged in which a small local company organizes door-to-door collection, waste segregation in a collection center, composting and the sale of recyclables. Okharpauwa village, where many wastes from Kathmandu end up, will serve as a secondary research site is to study the issue of socio-environmental justice.
Enslaved by a system where personal freedom is a blockade for family ties based on unconditional love, it is not difficult to say the Road Ahead had rose petals only for a while and it led Ivan to the same old camp. Chasing the Dream made of highly inflammable, utterly flimsy and zero percent eco-friendly substances to live in a place where official warnings admonish you on going out due to the pollution does not fit well in the resume of any rational animal. Having lost most of the prime time of youth, it is quite difficult to abandon the freedom of choice of 10 slightly poisonous, invariably polluted and genetically engineered bananas for just one pure and natural one with no choice at all. In pursuit of something, which is somewhere between the Gross National Happiness of Bhutan and Gross National Product of any First World Country, the race horse seems to have lost the right eye and right direction.
Trying to find a middle ground between fidels and infidels, wondering how I would explain 'Thou Shall not Kill' to my two-year-old makes me gaze into the horizon just like the hero in any old award-winning Malayalam movie. If uttering the word 'peace' jeopardises your box seat in the patriot's gallery, how will I explain using the Freedom of Speech that peace is good? When aftermaths of covert operations, which are essential in the raja dharma as explained in Kautilya's Arthashastra, gets flashed across the TV screens in family rooms during prime time newscasts interestingly coinciding with the time of the traditional evening prayer, how will I explain the separation of the Church from the State and ask him to give Caeser Caeser's share and God God's share?
The ISIC 2017 dataset was published by the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC) as a large-scale dataset of dermoscopy images. The Task 1 challenge dataset for lesion segmentation contains 2,000 images for training with ground truth segmentations (2000 binary mask images).
This data set contains weekly scans of cauliflower and broccoli covering a ten week growth cycle from transplant to harvest. The data set includes ground-truth, physical characteristics of the crop; environmental data collected by a weather station and a soil-senor network; and scans of the crop performed by an autonomous agricultural robot, which include stereo colour, thermal and hyperspectral imagery. The crop were planted at Lansdowne Farm, a University of Sydney agricultural research and teaching facility. Lansdowne Farm is located in Cobbitty, a suburb 70km south-west of Sydney in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Four 80 metre raised crop beds were prepared with a North-South orientation. Approximately 144 Brassica were planted in each bed. Cauliflower were planted in the first and third bed (from west to east). Broccoli were planted in the second and fourth beds.
TUT Rare Sound events 2017, development dataset consists of source files for creating mixtures of rare sound events (classes baby cry, gun shot, glass break) with background audio, as well a set of readily generated mixtures and recipes for generating them. The "source" part of the dataset consists of two subsets: (a) background recordings from 15 different acoustic scenes, (b) recordings with the target rare sound events from three classes, accompanied by annotations of their temporal occurrences, (c) a set of meta files providing the cross-validation setup: lists of background and target event recordings split into training and test subsets (called "devtrain" and "devtest", respectively, indicating they are provided as the development dataset, as opposed to the evaluation dataset released separately). The mixture set consists of two subsets (training and testing), each containing 1500 mixtures (500 per target class in each subset, with half of the mixtures not containing any target
