I was intrigued by your site,and I might be able to add something of interest.
I started going to school by train in 1976,using the route Clapham Jct-Putney and return daily.
At that time,the announcements were a well-spoken ladies voice,obviously on tape,because you could hear the mechanical degredatin of the sound quality.
Point is,last time I was at Clapham Jct Platform 5,I'm sure they still had the same announcements,even still having the hiatus after "Brentford" where the word "Central" had been deleted.The name was changed in the early 80s.
This can't have been more than a year ago,and may still be there to hear..
