First, let me just say that I really love the concept of RailsPlugins.

Now to the issue... Let's say I've entered, "Authlogic Rails 3 'Could
not find generator session'" into google as my search term, and the
first result returned is a link to RailsPlugins.org. Great. Now,
when I follow the link I find a nice looking list of commentary
regarding the very topic for which I've searched. Unfortunately, the
list is long, and I have to expand every list item until I find the
desired comment. Ideally, I would be allowed to use the browser's
native search function to locate the comment, but because the comments
are hidden, I cannot.

Since I'm not a fan of bitching about something being broken without
throwing out some suggested solutions, here are a few:

- Provide the ability to view the page with all comments fully
expanded, thus allowing for the use of native browser search support.
- Provide in-app search functionality.

In the event that I've foolishly overlooked the functionality I've
outlined above, please laugh and poke fun at me--I love that shit.

Cheers,
Tim

Great idea.

Shouldn't be too tough to implement either.

Hi Tim,

I'll make a "show all comments" button that will handle this :)

Great suggestion, the feature was written, code done, pushed and deployed.

Please let me know if this solves the problem for you.

Don't see the good in having all the comments hidden initially.
There's never an occasion when I'd want to see _that_ someone
commented, but not _what_ the comment was.
There's that, and this - if i try to copy a bit of text from a
comment, guess what, it slides up, sometimes preventing the copy to
work.

I too have noticed this behavior when trying to copy text from a comment.  I've heard a number of people complain about this issue around our office.

That said, I still use the hell out of RailsPlugins as it provides a useful service and an outstanding community.  I'm sure that with all of this constructive input the UX will improve significantly with time.

Cheers,
Tim

Hey good points, thanks for the alert.

Let me have a look at the UX here and I'll clean it up.
