to Rails Camp UK
I am very much a novice with regards to Rails (just starter fiddling
with Ruby last week to be honest).
I really enjoy spending time in the countryside, which often means no
Internet access.
With Rails being a framework for webapps, I simply dismissed the idea,
as I progress in learning, it seems there's something I need from the
Internet, be it a new gem or simply information.
Ideally, I wish, I could join you, however, I have different plans
already. I know I'd benefit a lot from that.
Anyway I'd like to try something similar in nature on my in the near
future, on my own.
I didn't notice any guide suggesting what unusual things might be
necessary so that yu don't get stuck offline...
It would seem to me, that having ruby, rails, migrate and a few other
gems and full offline documentation, would suffice, as mongrel is
included for local testing.
If fact, I've already done some simple apps offline and as expected
everything works fine.
As I progress towards more complex stuff, is there anything that's not
obvious and I'm likely to overlook?
What about the books, it would seems Rails Way is still the most
recommended one for advanced stuff?
Regards, Lech
