Amy,The DBC partnership thing is a perfect thing to get in touch with the RailsBridge board about — bo...@railsbridge.org. We're discussing it now. (The San Francisco chapter leaders (who you can email at S...@railsbridge.org) have already been in touch with DBC, I believe, and DBC's offer is one their radar.)We don't currently have a single point person for PoC outreach; I imagine it'll be a different person in each chapter. The board has some goals (which we'll be announcing soon) around chapters partnering with orgs that work with populations beyond women. Those partnerships will hopefully help us establish ongoing relationships with people in new communities, and a point person will emerge.L.

Hi Everyone,
I attended a conference last month and chatted up Andrew from DevBootCamp. He let me know DBC has offered their space to Railsbridge and would be happy to host workshops on a monthly basis. I also just got off a call with Marie in the same office where we discussed the possibility of a community of DBC graduates and volunteers who could take ownership of making this happen (since we are always short of organizers, right?). Marie also mentioned the possibility of expanding this support to other Railsbridge chapters since DBC has space in many cities. I would like to introduce her to our chapters organizers to facilitate this.
Who is our chapters organizer? And speaking of outreach, do we have a point person for POC outreach? I have come across a few opportunities for this but figure a white volunteer would be the same kind of helpful for that as the male volunteers at our women's workshops and I should probably get help.
Thanks in advance,
A

Thanks Lillie. I just got added to the Slack channel, so I'll cross-post this there.
I ended up sending Marie a link to the BridgeTroll chapters page, so she could contact leaders herself. If DBC has enthusiasm for ongoing workshops, the first step would probably be organizing an event there with their alumnae.

Hi
We (the SF chapter) have been working with Andrew at DBC re: an ongoing series of events. Also, our last event was also at DBC. We are, however, leery of working exclusively with one venue when we've spent time cultivating relationships with other spaces. Things may change within DBC and we don't want find ourselves a year from now reintroducing ourselves to SF-based organizations. Our plan is to use DBC consistently, but not exclusively.Cheers,Danie
