Are you saying there is no way to change, for example, the background
image for the span.image_replacement image (the Rails Admijn logo in
the header). I think my client would like to see their logo their
instead.

rails_admin is an engine, as such you can customize it by overriding
the files in the engine with a corresponding file in your app folder.

For example create a folder in your app:

app/public/images/rails_admin

and insert your own logo.png - done.

The same can be done for css files ... app/public/stylesheets/
rails_admin

Does that make sense?

I'm not having any luck with this on latest Rails 3. Anyone got it
working?

That's a known issue at the moment I believe.

We are just trying out rails_admin today and ran into this also. The
workaround we found is just to comment out the "static_assets"
initializer in lib/engine.rb in the gem source (ick, I know). I'm
sure there is a better way.

However, being new to this gem, it worries me. I will read more of
the mailing list before deciding to go back to more well worn paths.
