Rails Project at R&D Firm

My name is Giles Alexander and I'm a software engineer at a Sydney
company called Silverbrook Research, and we're looking at starting a
pretty large, and I think very interesting Ruby on Rails project. As
I'm sure you've never heard of us, here's a bit about the company. I'm
an engineer though, so I don't actually speak for Silverbrook on this
business-y stuff: this is just background.
The company was founded in about 1994, and is now Australia's largest
R&D firm. For most of that time they've been a startup in stealth
mode. They decloaked last year. Mainly, its a new kind of printer. But

Basically, faster than a laser printer, same quality and price as an

That's the company, but who am I? I'm a software engineer on a project
related to printers, slightly indirectly. My background is mainly C++
and .NET. I've worked on custom language virtual machines, large scale
enterprise web applications, computer vision software and even some
embedded software. With more and more Ruby and Rails. The team I'm
part of is about to start something big and pretty interesting. So

We have pretty good facilities (though I'm clearly biased): free
lunches, cafe-quality coffee machines, drinks fridge, etc. We also
take hiring pretty seriously, so you'll be working with smart,
dedicated people. And we genuinely think this project will be pretty
huge.
