Hi everyone

Corey Haines is swinging past Australia for YOW in early December, and is keen to run a Code Retreat in Melbourne. Corey's been running these as he's travelled around the world, and they sound pretty awesome, so I've offered to help make this one happen.

As I've mentioned at recent Melbourne Ruby meets, there's two key things that are needed to make this happen: a venue, and sponsorship to cover costs.

So, if you can help with either of those things - even if it's just a suggestion for a good venue that could fit up to 40 geeks with their laptops and a projector or two - please do get in touch!

It's also worth nothing - this is not a Ruby event, but a code event. So don't be scared if Ruby is not your dominant language.

Cheers

Hi,

Sounds great and I'd be happy to pay my share of costs to attend if we find a reasonable venue - are you thinking of a mixed sponsorship / attendees paying model?

I try not to let Ruby dominate me.  The first step is to not show any fear...

    Hi Ian

From what I've discussed with Corey, it sounds like he has always run them as free events to those who attend. I'd like to follow that approach, so really hoping for some offers of sponsorship from some of the dev companies in and around Melbourne. (Subtle, I know)

    How much do they need?
