What should we be discussing?

Suggestions
  • What Katja has been working on
  • How to get people involved
  • Dates!
What have I forgotten?

People manage their own membership. This is not an invitation-only
group, so if we want to let anyone know about the group, just send them
here:

I didn't realise that the default settings prevent users from sending out invitations, which seems like a silly default to me at this point in time. I've enabled that, along with a few other things.

  • How to get people involved

What's the process for getting involved as a helper/volunteer/coach kind of person?

Good question. I guess the basics are:
  • Let us know about you (site, CV, Github)
  • Let us know why you'd like to help out and what you'd like to offer
  • Let us meet up
Some of this can be done via private email, but it's in the interest of the community to keep everything as open and transparent as possible. :)

I think it would be good to have a coaches mailing list as well, similar to Berlin.
This way, for future events, it would make it easier to find people in short notice.

We (in Berlin) have a Google excel sheet with all the contact details of the coaches, including preferred language (German / English ), but I guess you don't need this ;)

And we now have a Google group just for the coaches to share their experiences while coaching and teaching their project groups that formed after the workshops.

Cheers,

Google excel sheet actually sounds good, thinking of the longer term. Cos there are always more coaches, than event may need, although their availability varies.

Yes, I think this is a really good idea. If we have a group for coaches, then we have a list of people interested in future events. :)
