(thanks Rose for the interesting information about the Galway Startup event. I'm spreading the word ;) )
Hi ladies (and supporting men), hope the summer has been good to you all and Autumn won't be too much of a shock.
Thanks
again for a super event this summer, I'm still working on getting a
laptop that isn't made of turf to make coding (and life in general) much
easier! Step by step!
I'm helping out with the
Galway Startup Weekend and wondered if you might be able to spread the word via your channels or if any of you would be interested in attending? :D
Here is a little bit on the weekend for those unfamiliar with it:
Galway
Startup Weekend is part of a wider global set of events called Startup
Weekend where people come together over a weekend working together as a
team (many people arrive not knowing anyone & leave with lifelong
contacts made) to test a business idea. I've both volunteered and
participated and got so much from both weekends.
You don't need to be technical (i.e. developer or designer) but tech people are very welcome. You also don't
need to pitch an idea....or you can come up with one while registering,
sometimes they turn out to be the best ideas. These are great weekends,
you'll make new friends and contacts learn so much and there are lots
of really cool freebies too!
Tickets
are less than €20 for students and €40 for everyone else. Food &
good vibes are provided, go on, take the challenge, I'm glad I did! This
years event is being hosted at GMIT Friday 2nd Oct to Sunday 4th. Any
questions pls ask (rose...@gmail.com)! Or find more info here and tickets here.
Thanks again and hopefully see some of you there!
Rose
