I hate to post this as it has overt hints of self-promotion, but I
recently started my own Ruby consultancy (just myself) and have
started a blog with the purpose of publishing the highs and lows of
the process in a very transparent way: http://yfactorial.com/blog.
The info seems like it might be relevant to those interested in this
mailing list.

Please be gentle to me if this smells like spam to you :)

I also just started in consulting this June and having been trying to
write about my business experiences in my blog (link in sig).

Some advice I found so far, start marketing yourself now. Even simple
things like blogging, commenting to blogs, and just generally helping
people have attracted the most business to me.

And spamassassin says:

X-Spam-Status: No, score=-0.3 required=5.0

Good luck to you.

Awesome, I'll keep an eye on your blog, sounds like something we can
all learn from :)

All the best to you!
