Great discussions going on here. So, I have recently been doing the
project planning thing -- Gnome Planner is pretty sweet, btw, and KDE
rawks!!! -- and I am wondering if anyone knows how to print a big old
honking project plan in one big sheet. Like, on a plotter or
something, so we have the whole pretty picture on the wall.

Thanks in advance,

The problem with printing larger than legal size is your printer.  Most print shops have the required hardware to do it (your local mom&pop printer, Kinkos, etc ...)

You should call them to make sure they have the required software.  If they don't, you can probably export it to some format they can print - like pdf or postscript.

Yeah, there must be some print-to-PS or PDF setting for Giant Frickin' Poster...

Almost all major copy places offer plotting service, but you may find
they are a bit expensive. I forget the actual quotes, but I know for
a 24x36 plots (lighting design) it would cost me about $12 dollars in
black and white. I assumed you'd want to go a bunch bigger. Its also
sold by the square foot generally.

They will accept almost any format but seem to prefer a PDF in full
print size. Just make sure you call them first because one dimension
is usually 36" or 48".

Agreed. I need to get back in the habit of writing some weekly
recaps, as it has helped gain more awareness of this list.

Thanks to all those who have helped make this a great new addition to
the Rails community! :-)

Cheers,
Robby
