hi,

Reading through the Google Lunar X Prize competitors webpages, I came across the page for JURBAN - http://www.googlelunarxprize.org/lunar/teams/jurban

It seems to be based on the railroading concept and might be worth exploring even though the team may not be one of the first to reach the Moon or win the competition.
