I was updating a Railo instance tonight and I was curious the release date of each version.  I was thinking that might be a nice addition to the update screen.  Nonetheless, I couldn't find anywhere in the Railo docs, etc that listed every release and its date.  This page has dates for each of the archived versions:
http://www.getrailo.org/index.cfm/download/olderversions/ But the main download page seemed to lack release dates.

The only thing I could find was to pull up the GitHub tag for a release and look at when the last commit was made which may or may not be close to when it was released.

Does such information exist via an official channel?

Thanks!

In Railo 4.2 the release date is set manually before we do a new "tag"
this is also the information you see in the server scope.

In George (Railo 4.2 successor) the release date is set by the build process in the default.properties file, the location for this information has moved because this file is common practice with OSGi.

Odd way to describe Railo 5.x (I don't mean "George", but "Railo 4.2 successor").

But you've given me an in now... where is it??? ;-)

I think that is just Micha's way of saying that George is the next release after Railo 4.2. Language differences innit?

And yeah! I want to play with George!

I wish Adobe went to an Agile model of releases. Competition drives innovation. :) (seems they are not doing good enough at inspiring faster Railo releases)

this has nothing to do with inspiration or motivation.  I can assure you that the people behind the Railo project are highly motivated and totally inspired.  this has to do with resources, logistics, and other technicalities that many open source projects face.

For all that it's worth, nothing Adobe has done with ACF has inspired me in the last several years. Railo 4.2... leagues beyond anything that's come from ACF IMO. And I hope all involved with Railo keep it up.
