I heard that cfpdfform tag would be available in Railo 4. I cannot see it in tag reference though. Anyone knows what happened to it?

I just tested a pdf form and the tag obviously has not been included in Railo 4. Are there any plans to do that in a future?

Not sure where you heard that. I don't think we had any PDF additions in 4.0

This depends on the underlying library for PDF. 

Please remember that PDF is a proprietary format owned by Adobe.

Hi Mark,

first: Gert Franz posted it here on the list - last year, end of September.

second: since 2008 PDF is a ISO open standard... and a public patent royality-free licence is granted for all patents from Adobe.

third: (and most important): Thanks for developing railo - railo 4 is a great release

Hi there

I didn't see Gert's post and (personally, not Railo) I have very little interest in PDF, as I see it as barely a step above paper. (I know you all love that stuff…  but for me, not at all) 

I am sure there is an open standard for it, but there are non royalty free patents around generating PDF's from code.
