People are still figuring out how to get on this email list, and in order to avoid accidental emails to everyone, we're setting everyone to moderated. It'll likely stay like that, so if you send a message to the group a moderator will have to approve it.
We'll also send this out over the old email list so people that are struggling have details instructions.
This groups PURPOSE is to announce group related events and other official announcements.
This group is not for chatter and socialization. The only reason to post to this group is to publicize group related events and changes to those events. Any other emails, for other purposes will be denied by a moderator to avoid email overload. (no offense!)

Most people will only ever receive emails from the group about events. Once you get signed up the emails should just roll into your inbox and you shouldn't need to worry about signing in to groups again, unless your email address changes or you want to leave the group.
