EE online chat has been no help at all on this - they just say as long as I can access open internet then everything is working, which is totally untrue. Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it.
I have just moved from an Osprey2 to a 4GEE wifi mini, but am unable to login to myaccount.microsoft.com using the new device. I use the device for work and my large international company support helpdesk have been unable to resolve despite logging in being mandatory to work on our internal systems - they say it's the unit at fault. The error message I get is 'you cannot access this right now'. The SIM card works on an Huawei 3G plug in dongle and I can login perfectly to everything. The SIM card also works perfectly in an EE mobile phone configured as a hotspot. The SIM card still works on the old Osprey2. I have gone through the web interface and there's nothing I can see that looks incorrect - including looking at the hidden pages such as diagnostic, routingRules, urlFilter, vpn, ddns
So to recap and make sure I understand, when you put the SIM in a mobile or another 4G device, you're able to log into the page you posted? It's just when the SIM is in the Osprey 2 device that you can't log into it?
Christopher, not quite. The Osprey2, my old device works fine no issue at all logging in through Myaccount.microsoft.com. The same SIM card also works fine on a plug-in 3G dongle and with a 4G mobile phone being used purely as a hotspot. It's definitely a difference about the way EE implement security or something with the new device. Also remembering back maybe about 4 years ago, I upgraded to the device that at that time was the 'upgrade' to the osprey 2. That did not work either, and in fact I cancelled that contract as EE shop or online help could not find a cure so I went back to using my old device, but it's getting rather a tired battery now. Back then we did not have to log in through a microsoft page, but it just failed to work - can't remember the error message. Is there a specific hidden page on configuration through 192.168.1.1 on the 4GEE wifi mini that I haven't looked at yet - like one for a firewall, or specific ports not opened. I have been through all the forums I can find from Microsoft and nothing comes up with a similar problem.
Great news. Yes the 4GEE device was supplied direct by EE and changing IP connection mode from the default IPv4v6 to IPv4 seems to have solved the issue. I've tried a few times rebooting and also just switching between BT broadband and the EE device and I can get in each time on either seemlessly again. Thank you
Have just started using 4gee mini wifi and i am trying to find out how to see what credit i have left and how to top up. I have been able to connect to the internet . i have navigated to the gateway address and have registered at the my ee link, but adding a device doesn't seem to work - i type in the number of the sim and it returns this -
MyEE doesn't work for registering PAYG MBB devices or at least those with data SIMs. It stops at telling you to connect your device & login to it, but when you've done as instructed it doesn't have anywhere for you to say you've done it.
PS After inputting 192.168.1.1 as per the handy Quick Start guide, which accompanied the mini wifi device, had gotten a forbidden message on one phone and not another so had compared internet settings.
I've recently bought and set up a 4GEE Wifi Mini to use in an unoccupied house to be able to use Tado smart heating remotely to make sure the heating works (temperamental boiler I'd like to keep an eye on).
This works excellently... until it doesn't. Every day the Tado internet bridge loses connection and the Tado system goes offline, the only way to fix it is to go to the house and reset the 4GEE Wifi Mini router. As this is currently taking a lot of time out of my day, is there any known way to fix this? Or to reset the 4GEE wifi mini remotely?
The 4Gee WiFi Mini will probably Time Out and Shut Down after a while if there is no WiFi Devices connected to it. I'm not sure how it will behave in the absence of no WiFi Connection but having an Ethernet Cable connected, thinking about it I didn't think the Mini had an RJ45 Port.
Depending on the Mini,s model type, there's a few of them now, you may be able to change the time out to none within the Admin Settings, otherwise you could try connecting a mains powered WiFi device to it permanently to keep it awake.
Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I don't think it's to do with the Mini shutting down, as when I go to the house to reset it my phone connects straight away and the Tado device is still not working.
OK, can't help you with the TP Link extender then, the only other pointers would be to look at all the Devices Housekeeping settings and see if there are any Daily resets or restarts going on, another thing is to look at the IP Config of the Setup, also the IP Address from EE will be Dynamically Asigned and not Static, you could also look and perhaps change the Lease Time period, not sure if that's going to help though.
I had the same thought thinking it was something to do with IP address conflicts, but annoyingly the 4GEE mini router doesn't seem to allow me to change to a Static IP or to change lease times, I may be wrong on this front though?
Hi my wifi mini has frozen today, all 4 lights are constantly on. I've tried to reset the unit, but it will not connect to the laptop just says no Internet connection. So I can't get onto the 192.168.1.1 to reset. Does anyone have any suggestions?
@Tlee41791 I ended up taking the device back to where I bought it , and it was replaced under warranty as they advised it was a fault that could not be reset. However EE did advise that even out of warranty they could send it back to be tested/repaired, but would take up to a week. Hope you manage to get yours resolved.
Hi guys, sorry I am creating this post from Ghana, I don't know if I am using the right forum but I am sure anyway, I bought a new 4GEE WIFI MINI which accepted Ghana SIM and works fine, I opened the dashboard to set my admin password and wife name, I noticed there was an update and I updated it, I was not connected to PC by then, it rebooted normally meaning it installed the update, but after that it can't open the WEBUI or dashboard anymore.... When I use 192.168.1.1 or 4gee.wifi/index.html does not work, it gives me this site can't be reached. 4gee.wifi's IP Address could not be found error all the time. I have reset the device about 6 times but still no possible solution . Please help me...
From your reports, the provenance of this device is unknown, it may be behaving differently to how we might expect on a foreign network, and the provenance of the software you have installed is unknown. On top of that, it's not clear that you have control of the device in regard to its new firmware.
My mum has a 4gEE wifi mini and tablets, phones, laptops etc work fine on it. However, the JCV smart TV can't connect to the Internet through it, so they bought an amazon firestick for non-smart TV and that won't work with the mini either! Please can someone help me fix this problem for them so they can watch streaming services on their TV rather than on their tablets!
Hiya, I recently had a mini wifi router and was having the exact same problem. I have found a work around, well it works for me, so definitely worth a try. In order for my smart TV to connect with the 4g router I have to login to the router home page (192.168.1.1) go to status and click disconnect from the Internet. I then go back to the TV and search for the SSID and then connect. I go back to the router home page, select status and connect. I can then watch Netflix etc and stream on the TV. It's bizarre but my TV will only connect to the router when the router is disconnected from the Internet. Bit of a faff but hope this helps. M:)
I have a 4GEE wifi mini, when i first got it it worked perfectly. But just recently it wont connect to the internet so im unable to connect to the wifi on my phone. I turn it on and it has all 4 lights are a solid blue and they stay on. I have tried restarting it, taking battery and sim card off. And plugged it in also. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong with it?
Same as other problems described above. Just received item. Lights on but the "4GEE WiFi network name" doesn't appear in list of wifi networks (checked on 2 devices). Been on to customer services for over an hour and a quarter. No use.
I purchased a 4gee wifi mini, used up all the data that it came with, and now I cannot figure out how to top it up! It seems impossible to add the device to my EE account and when I go to the top up page it asks for a number starting with 07... where do I find the number? why is this so difficult to use?!
