I use a genuine Arduino Uno. When I first got this error message, I did a lot of things to, hopefully, fix this, like changing to a different USB port (There are 2, one on the left and another on the right.), reconnecting the Uno, closing and reopening the IDE and more. Currently, the only solution I've found to work is to reinstall the IDE, of which I'm tired of doing right now. Right now, every time I want to use Arduino for programming, I have to reconfigure the boards and the ports and hope to get a miracle.
A little later, I saw that there are, in fact, some problems that other people had faced while using the Arduino IDE in Windows 10. I tried using the IDE on Windows 7 devices and it seems 100% ok. What is going on and what should I do to fix it?
This sort of error could be caused by your antivirus software. Try TEMPORARILY disabling your antivirus for a single compilation to see if the problem goes away, then turn the antivirus back on. If the problem doesn't occur with the antivirus off you will need to adjust the settings of your antivirus to whitelist the appropriate file, folder, or process so it doesn't interfere with compilation.
Hi all,
When trying to upload a sketch to my Arduino UNO I get the above error message, how can the port be busy, if I am trying to up load through it? I have tried different ports and get the same message, my device manager states all com ports have up to date drivers, I have tried googleing and this forum but my problem seems slightly different to those already posted on this forum, or am I looking in the wrong place?
I am running the Arduino IDE on a linux machine (ubuntu 18). When the IDE is running, Serial Monitor is open and I unplug an Arduino the USB0 port remains open and is not available any more. I must close the Serial Monitor window, go to Tools >> Ports to switch to the USB1 port, then I can upload again.
the serial port might be used by another application.
open the devices manager
expand the comports menu
existing ports will be listed.
unplug the arduino from PC port
the screen will refresh and you will see the serial port where the arduino is connected disapear.
reconnect the arduino.
screen will refresh again and you should see the right port.
select this port in the arduino IDE.
I get similar port errors in Arduino IDE if I have "Ultimaker Cura" running simultaneously. Cura obviously scans through USB-ports to find removable drives. And this is not visible in Windows Device Manager.
In my case, what led me to the solution was to activate all exceptions (Debug -> Windows -> Exception Settings, check all the boxes). After that I got a proper error pointing me to a recent change in DB that was preventing my application from starting. Good luck!
I had the same problem appear after a Windows update and repairing and updating Visual Studio 2022 did not fix it and I had no idea what was going on. My issue was that .NET 7 SDK had an update that needed to be installed. I don't know if some people have it install automatically but I have to do it manually and that fixed the problem.
It was hard to tell because I usually run the project with https instead of IIS Express as the launch setting and it shows the "failed to listen on port 7189" error, and the browser does not open even though it is set to "launchBrowser: true". Once I switched to IIS Express the browser opened and showed the .Net version error, and then it was pretty simple to solve from there. Something like this happens every so often and I always forget to check.
In my case the issue was with the .Net version installed, my project was running on .Net 6 and I have not installed this version kindly check which version you have installed and also the project will run if it is backward compatible.
Hello everybody,
I try to install a single-computer installation of Dynamics AX 2012 RTM on a Server 2008 R2 VM on a Hyper-V Server.
Prerequisite Tool said i have everything done but after it finished the database installation it ends - I get 2 errors
both mess with ports and I dont know why:
1. Error on install AOS on Port 2712. And the log file it writes doesnt exists.
2. Component 'URI of AOS Service WSDL accessible' cant be proofed because the server dont accepts connections on port 8101.
When I type the URI the networkdiagnostic said:
The Connection from remote machine respectively the ressource will not be accepted.
The machine respectively the ressource is not installed fr accepting connections on port 8101.
The computer is available but it doesnt support the process.
An address book is a structured collection of your remote connections. Each connection corresponds to a specific remote computer and carries unique properties like the destination address, access password (if stored), and color depth. Remote Utilities provides the feature to locally backup and encrypt your address books.
An Agent is a remote module specifically designed for spontaneous support sessions. It features a unique window that can be personalized with your own logo and text. Notably, the Agent does not require installation or administrative privileges to operate.

Host not found.
No such host is known. The name is not an official host name or alias, or it cannot be found in the database(s) being queried. This error may also be returned for protocol and service queries, and means that the specified name could not be found in the relevant database.
The Internet-ID connection requires some outbound ports to be open. When used with our public service the ports used are TCP 5655 and 443. Make sure that the Host can establish outbound connections on these ports or allow the ports in the local and perimeter firewall if necessary.
Even if outbound connections on TCP ports 5655 and 443 are allowed on the Host machine and in the perimeter firewall, such connections may still be blocked on the ISP level. In this case you should contact your ISP representative.

I tried to update driver via windows update, uninstall device, restart, load default bios setting, update graphic drivers, update all drivers that are available on HP website for my laptop. I haven't tried to downgrade bios/firmware because i couldn't found any BIOS/FIRMWARE installation for my laptop on HP Website.'
I have contacted the HP support service via whatsapp. Even though they provide excellent support service, it didn't solve my problem. They suggested me to go to the nearest HP Service center, because they thought it was a hardware problem.
However, I found an oddity in Device Event Properties, in one of the sections in events, there is a section that states if the driver is migrated which increases my suspicion if the problem is with the driver.
In the end I decided to do a clean windows 11 install and reinstall all the drivers and apps. Now everything is working again. And it has answered my question. Problem solved!
It's a strange experience for me, because my problem appeared a WEEK after I upgraded to 22H2, and during those 7 days I didn't find any problem with USB-c, I used that port every day.
There are many answers on the net about that issue. I had it yesterday. HP Support updated my bios, all the drivers, asked me to shut down the laptop, press the power button for more than 60 seconds - but nothing helped. I still had this error 43 and no access to the USB-C port. After watching a related YT-Video, where it was recommended to take off the battery for a couple of minutes, I thought it might be worth to let the laptop run off power as I couldn't take away the battery. And, miracle, the error disappeared once my laptop shut down because of low battery status and I set back the power.
I found a solution that worked for me and several others. I wasn't looking forward to a reinstall and the hassle and non-productive time it would take. I had downloaded drivers, reinstalled drivers, all the things suggested on several web sites. As a last minute effort I searched the problem again and found a site I hadn't been to. The person that posted simply let his laptop run down until it shut off then plugged it back in. I didn't see the sense in not trying one more thing. It worked exactly as he said it did. I have an Alienware with a USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports. Neither would work. I was running 3 monitors. Internal laptop screen, 1 monitor plugged in to the HDMI port and a USB-C to HDMI adapter for the 3rd monitor (which worked the same on the USB-C or TB-4 port.) What I was using the ports for had nothing to do with them working or not working.
The Admiralty had already taken its first step, cloaked in naval secrecy, four days previously when it summoned demolition experts to stations at Dover in preparation for destroying channel ports that would fall into enemy hands should the campaign just opening go wrong. What premonition, or was it an estimate of defeat, could have so stirred the experienced Sea Lords before the echoes of the first shots died out?
