Open the desktop IDE
Select TOOLS
Select Board then Board Manager
Wait until the list has updated.
In the "filter" box type SAMD
It will list the support package for the MKR series boards and you should install that.
Hi Reinhard,
the 1.6.19 version of the SAMD boards is OK.
The processor is shown and it's the first in the list. The problem is that as soon as you click on that tab to look at the available driver versions, the MKR1010 disappear from the list. No way to have it back in the list until you close and reopen the board manager.
in office we use hp laserjet 1010 printer, i tried to install the driver and add printer but issue is driver installed, and show the printer , but actual printer shows in unknown device, in short printer not installed... i tried many times.... some time accidently install first time, but mostly time it is not install easily, i use driver OS vista32bit, kindly guide me ....
I use Windows 7 and i recently tested a machine like on my laptop and had no problem with the driver.Try to uninstall driver and reset computer so that the printer installs automatic;y through found new hardware and try again.Hope this will solve your problem.
when you told me doing uninstall and again install it, then by chance i try to install Universal driver pcl 5, and secondly i used DOT 4 port, doing this method printer driver easily installed and running smoothly on network/ sharing mode too...
Problem solved... with happy ending....
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Even the model number is too hard! If it is critical to getting information, why isn't it written on the front. This HP Envy laptop has no such information. I am not going to pull the machine apart to look for this. All I want to do is run my HP non-wireless printer with my new laptop
Regrettably, some of us struggle with all this stuff. I want HP to send me a step-by-step guide to having their laptop work with the printer I have. I shouldn't have to have the skills of an IT grad to work this stuff out.
In Win10 -> add new printer -> add it manually .... old printer ... not on the list -> select connected port- Dot4_001 -> find HP LaserJet 1015 on the nenu list -> if thers is no 1015 then click "Windows Update" which under the right side of the menu list and waiting for its ending...... then go back finding again. It should be fine.
If it's not then click the "install from disk" which seats beside the "Windows Update" and point it to the folder where you download the 1015's driver. Don't to unzip the driverfirst which you downloaded.
Am I the only person that thinks that multinational corporations should not be relying on community forums to fix their problems. There is NO REASON why two HP products should not work with each other.
So I try to find to use the HP Universal Print Driver PCl5 (not PCL6 it won't work) and there's no such one on 1010's Win7 x64 drivers. Then i went to HP P2055's Win7 x64 driver and fount it, download and execute and assign a folder to extract to.
HP LaserJet 1010 is more than 10 years aged it's simple and effective and long life to use but i don't think HP has the responsibility for all new Windows system for it. If you think they should be then maybe one day HP will cut down the life expectancy of every new HP printers and shorten them to less than 5 years. Then there's nothing to worry about.
I had my 1010 printer working on Win 10 using the 3055 driver until the recent Win 10 update. It's a great printer and I'm loath to throw it out just because HP can't be bothered to write a driver. Can anyone help?
I used the link you supplied but it didn't take me anywhere I hadn't tried already. I had hoped someone would have a driver ready to load. Could you try the link and see if it was what you intended to send?
Hi I need to to rebuild my h8-1010, have been using it for a while but hard drive completely gave out, I have a new HDD replacement but no original software/drivers to restore pc to original OOB staus. Please help, Other than HDD failure my pc worked great. Great workhorse, reliable.
I have a canon Pixma g1010 printer that works perfectly with Windows10. I have a Macbook pro 2018 15" with MaOS Catalina 10.15.6. I connect the printer with a USB adapter and the printer is recognised.
I installed the driver package from the Canon site, added the printer and the printer status shows Idle, Default printer. When I gave a print command, the queue displayed printing and the printer led started to slowly blink and kept blinking. Then I got an error (sometimes 306 sometimes 311) and nothing.
The support page for that printer specifically disclaims MacOS support. That generally means the image generation (rasterizing) is done on the Windows computer, and the maker has decided not to offer a Mac compatible rasterizer.
At least according to the specifications at -g1010/specification, Mac is not supported fr this very printer model. You mentioned a driver package; which one? There are Mac drivers (for example) for a G1000, but whether these can be used at all in this case is another question.
Thats exactly what I am trying now. Installed virtual box. Now trying to setup a shared folder. The printer however is not being detected by the Virtual Windows. So trying to figure that out. But its ironic that I have to fall back on windows on an Apple device to get something working.
I have to setup a shared folder between MacOS and Virtual Windows. Install G1010 driver on Virtual windows. Get it to detect the printer. For printing - I shall have to convert all docs to PDF for printing else I shall have to load Office/or some other S/w for that.
Thanks. That is the next step.. Buying a new Mac compatible printer is not an option. It just takes up a lot of time to get all this going!!! Wish Apple could be more flexible or Cannon would make compatible drivers for Linux and windows. I m trying to get it setup through Ubuntu as well on Virtual box. Lets see which approach works.
Just an update. Finally managed to get the virtual machine Virtual Box Installed alongwith Windows 10. Downloaded the usb3.0 extension from VirtualBox.org. Printer detected in Guest OS and printout successful - Finally.
(To make a long story short: It did not work and then I decided to split the problem into 2: To try to print when the printer is connected via USB to the computer, and only when it works, to proceed to network installation).
I attempted to use the instructions provided here, but the printer did not print. Subsequently, I came across a video and modified the driver to hp LaserJet 1010 HB. Following this adjustment, I successfully printed from my Windows 11 Pro for Workstations computer.
Using the same LaserJet 1010 HB driver, I attempted the network solution by connecting the printer to the USB port at the back of the router (Asus RT-AC87U). I followed the instructions provided here, but unfortunately, the document doesn't leave the queue and the printer doesn't print.
As far as I know a Laserjet 1010 is a so-called Win-printer.
Win-printers don't have a fully capable render-engine build in, but rely on a software-engine, that is part of the Windows driver, to do the heavy lifting.
When you have it installed to a Windows computer you can share it to other computers as a regular Windows "Shared Printer", but attaching it to a non-Windows machine (like your router) that can't run the special driver just won't work.
At last, it's operational. The HP LaserJet 100 printer is connected to the Asus RT-AC87U router, and I can now use it from two computers (Windows 11 Pro over Wifi and wired Windows 11 Pro for Workstations).
MKR WiFi 1010 board has been designed to offer a practical and cost effective solution for makers seeking to add Wi-Fi connectivity to their projects with minimal previous experience in networking. Learn how to set up the programming environment and get the hardware up and running, ready for your projects, in minutes.
The MKR WIFI 1010 is programmed using the Arduino Software (IDE), our Integrated Development Environment common to all our boards and running both online and offline. For more information on how to get started with the Arduino Software visit the Getting Started page.
This board is compatible with the Arduino IoT Cloud, where you can create IoT applications in a few simple steps. The cloud includes powerful features, such as building dashboards to monitor and control sensor networks, while making sure your data is secure.
The Arduino Web Editor is hosted online, therefore it will always be up-to-date with the latest features and support for all boards. Follow this simple guide to start coding on the browser and upload your sketches onto your board.
If you want to program your MKR WIFI 1010 while offline you need to install the Arduino Desktop IDE and add the Arduino SAMD Core to it. This simple procedure is done selecting Tools menu, then Boards and last Boards Manager, as documented in the Arduino Boards Manager page.
OSXNo driver installation is necessary on OSX. Depending on the version of the OS you're running, you may get a dialog box asking you if you wish to open the "Network Preferences". Click the "Network Preferences..." button, then click "Apply". The MKR WIFI 1010 will show up as "Not Configured", but it is still working. You can quit the System Preferences.
Windows (tested on 7, 8 and 10)If you properly installed the SAMD Core, just connect the MKR WIFI 1010 to your computer with a USB cable. Windows should initiate its driver installation process once the board is plugged in.
