Hotel Arrangments

Dear Team:

 

We need to start our plan for the hotel considerations prior to the race and after the race. Runners on Van #1 should stay in Wickenburg Thursday night because our start time could be around 6:30 am. It will take about 6 to 7 hours before Van #2 starts.

Van #2 does not need to be in Wickenburg. The start time will be around noon time to 1:00 pm for Van #2.

 

Our team will finish late afternoon on Saturday. We are planning on having dinner together at the end of the race. Krista offered to have the team come over to her parents home on Saturday night. We would pick up dinner near by and bring it over to her parents home.

 

Questions for the group

1. I will make reservations at a restaurant in the Phoenix area around 6:30 pm for Thursday night.  I need to know how many of our team are planning to attend. I hope all of you do.  

2. With respect to hotel reservations for Thursday night, who would like to have their own rooms and who would like to share a room with one of their teammates? 

3. Who will need a hotel room for Saturday night?

4. Any special accommodations does anyone in our group need?

 

Please email me your answers with respect to these questions. I will do some research on the hotels and restaurants.

In response to your questions:
1. I plan on attending the team dinner Thursday night.
2. I'm willing to share a room.
3. I will not need a room Saturday night. My fathrr lives in Prescott, AZ (a few hours north of Phoenix and I will be going to visit him after the team dinner on Saturday).
4. I don't need any special accomidations.

1. I will plan on attending dinner on Thursday to meet everyone!
2. I don't mind sharing a room.
3. I don't need a hotel for Saturday - gonna try and stay with some friends in Tempe.
4. I'm a vegetarian - not usually a problem, I'm not picky, but I always put it out there just in case.

Kris and I talked today.  We don't mind if all four men from van 1 are in the same room or we can just sleep out somewhere.  It's just another trial run for Friday night sleeping along the race route.  I'll see what kind of an AARP rate I can find.
We should be there in time for 6:30 dinner on Thursday.  Only "special need" is sometimes spicy Mexican doesn't sit well while I'm running.
We both need to be back in Salt Lake by Sunday night so timing of any Saturday plans will be critical.  Most likely we would start home Saturday night, stop somewhere along the way and finish on Sunday.  Until we have a start time and can project a finish, that one is up in the air.
