Current Team Count

Hi, everyone. Things are starting to shape up. It would be helpful if the people signed up with the group but not talking said something. I want to make sure I know who is really on board and who is still iffy.  Being "iffy" makes sense, because none of us know if we'll be healthy in 4 months. But for this type of event, you just have to take that leap of faith and commit.

Right now I think we have the following committed people:
Me (Krista) from Maryland
Doug from Oregon (I think)
Kim from Surprise, AZ
Kim's friend -- I can't find a name in my emails
Carl Garbus from California
Carl's friend Jay (I don't think I have his email to add to the group yet)

And there are seven other members of this GoogleGroup that might be interested? Do any of you want to chime in and claim an official spot?

So we are about halfway there.  This is exciting! Once we add 3 more people, we'll begin averaging out our time and sorting into vans.

Thanks so much for the invite and organization Krista. Sounds great but I really only want to do an ultra team so at this point ill have to bow out. Thanks again for organizing.

Carrie, feel free to stay in the group and try to recruit an ultra team from within the group. I'm continuing to try to invite new people who show interest on the main Ragnar site to this group.

We don't need to develop only one team.

I don't think we can just log on to Ragnar and sign up.  I think someone has to sign up as the team captain and send out invitations.

I'm maintaining a list until we get 2/3 the way there (in other words, close enough that we might actually get there). Then, we'll talk names and I'll do the signup. Paige, I'll add you to the list. I think that puts us at 8 (I'm saying this without checking the list). I also have another possible person that I'm exchanging emails with.

I want to vaguely know who we're talking about before getting us financially committed.

Hi Everyone!

 

My name is Keith and I just wanted to say “I am in"!  I am in the military so I had to be sure my temporary duty (TDY) schedule remained clear for this Ragnar.  I am from Utah and had completed two Ragnars last year and five so far this year.  I am on track to run the Las Vegas in Nov and the Florida Keys in Jan 2013.

 

Needless to say I thoroughly enjoy the Ragnars, the courses, the costumes, the “hype”, and as pointed out especially the team members.  So far I have only ran with one team more than once (Cape Cap and Adirondacks) and every teammate experience has been a BLAST!!!

 

On registering the team; I would suggest we have our Captain sign us up now to ensure our spot.  The Captain can sign us up as a "To Be Determined or TBD" team which he/she can change later.  If not already determined/selected I respectfully nominate "Krista" as our Captain.....WOOHOO the crowd goes WILD!!!

 

Any way I am happy to be onboard and look forward to meeting you all in "Wickenburg" Feb 2013!  Take care, happy running and be safe!!

Hello! Are you still planning to drive to Phoenix for this Ragnar? The drive is about 12 hours which is quite the drive. Not to mention we would have to leave Wednesday or very early Thursday to meet up with the rest of the team the night before the relay starts.

I am looking at flights to see if the rates are cheap. I am still pondering the travel method to Phoenxi so let me know if you will drive or if flying is an option. Have a great day!

Yes.  Planning to leave Wednesday night, maybe sleep somewhere along the way either in the van or motel.
