This is a great idea! I look forward to contributing lots!

Suggesstion #1 - However, I must say that rAgas have not necessarily
been recognized only by scale all along. (with reference to a line in
the wiki page)
Gamakams and namely the *chHyaa* of a ragam is usually considered. I
would like suggesstions - if that line could be modified ( as it may
bring up questions from readers)

Nevertheless, this is a great project to think about and will
definitely is a fantastic idea. Lets jump start!

Hi Ramya
Is this the line you are refering to?
"So we aim at completely eliminating this conventional view-point of looking at a raga as just its scale."
If so, then you are right. This is not exactly what we want to convey.
What we really want to convey is that - Despite the fact that characteristics of a raga extend to much more than just its scale, most online resources describe ragas by simply their arohanam and avarohaman. We aim to create an veritable/authoritative online resource that describes a raga in a more fundamental way - based on its Raga Genes.

I have been trying to add related work that I come across to this page

Please do add more related work that you know of to this page.

I must make a disclaimer here that my carnatic knowledge is extremely limited, and my aim by means of this exercise is also to increase my own knowledge :) That is why I am trying to get more people into this project who are knowledgeable in the Carnatic technicalities. I think the design process is the most important (and may potentially take the longest time) but it is important that we get this part right. After that coding it all up is a trivial exercise!
